Charles May 03, 2016 for Model Number GE PVM1790SR1SS I Have a GE PVM1790SR1SS microwave convection combo. The board indicator lights are VERY DIM - hardly readable. It is only a few years old and not used very often. Will a new circuit board fix this issue and last? Is there a cheaper way to fix this problem? Control Board AP3883436 is over $200! Thanks
1 Answer Hello Charles, I'm sorry but WB27X10866 is the only way to correct this issue described. Read More...
Donald C April 16, 2016 for Model Number PVM9179DF1BB This GE Micro wave Convection oven is in my RV. I had a RV power problem with my 50 AMP service and it appears to have blow out the oven, Nothing works. I have checked the power and the fuse. All are ok. I also have power to the PCB. This is the second time it has happened. The last time I just replaced the entire oven because it was 10 years old. Also is there anyway to protect it from this? Thanks,
1 Answer Donald, Along with the fuse there is a oven Thermal cutoff, a heater thermal cutoff, a magnetron thermal cutoff and bottom thermal cutoff that need to be checked for continuity. If any of them do not have continuity then the part will need to be replaced. Read More...
Joe August 05, 2015 for Model Number jvmi730dmibb The controls on the microwave will not work except for 6 min. Quick start and clock. After I turned the power off to the unit the clock stopped working. Defrost will work but cannot input weight with number buttons. I cannot find a smart board for the unit because there does not seem to be one listed. Can someone help me with this issue?
1 Answer Hello Joe. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WB07X11033 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Doug December 07, 2014 for Model Number jvm1790sk01 When turning the dial to set cook time, the numbers are erratic unless the dial is turned very slowly. The board photo is small and I do not see a shaft for a dial. Is there another part the knob mounts on? What part do I need?
1 Answer Doug, The part that you would need is the control board WB27X10866 which this control board does have the shaft for the dial on it. Read More...
Dennis October 20, 2014 for Model Number PVM1790SR1SS My microwave went totally dead. No clock, nothing. We were cooking potato's with the convection and it just quit in the middle of this. I checked the plug, the main fuse, and the thermal fuses. They all appear good. Is it very common for the main board to go out? Help! Thanks
1 Answer Dennis, Test the control board to make sure that it is receiving power. If it is then the issue would be the control board WB27X10866. Read More...
B.J. May 21, 2014 for Model Number JVM1790SK01 The microwave simply stopped working last night. Everything else works fine (timer, clock, light, fan etc) but it does not start. When the start button is pushed the timer counts down but motor does not start. I hear clicking sound (one click at the beginning like it is trying to turn the motor on and a few seconds later another click like it turns itself off due to failure) on control panel when I push start button. Is that due to relay failure or something else? Can I just change the relay somehow?
1 Answer Hello B.J., This can be one of the door switches, the low voltage transformer, the control board or an open circuit in the high voltage side of the circuit. You will need to open the unit and test the components to determine which component/s are causing the issue. When you get the control panel opened, you will find the wiring diagram in a small envelope or taped to the inside of the unit/control panel. This problem will require a test meter to locate. Kcredchief March 17, 2014 for Model Number JVM1790sk01 The model is a micro/convection oven combo. The unit is fine with door open. When door is closed it makes a loud hum coming from the transformer like there is a short. It stops as soon as you open the door. You can turn it on and everything appears to be working. The bottom of the unit gets hot as well when the door is closed. I checked the door switches with a meter and they appear to be working properly. Any advice what parts I should buy to fix this? You response would be greatly appreciated. The unit is only three years old. Thanks
1 Answer KCredchief, The most likely issue will be cause by the monitor switch shorting out and allowing 120 vac to get to both sides of the transformer. With this issue, it is recommended to replace the monitor switch WB24X25397 and transformer WB26X21108 at the same time due to possible damage from getting 120 vac on both legs of the transformer. Ron March 10, 2014 for Model Number jvm1790sk01 After using, closed the door but could hear the oven fan running by using the touch pad the oven functions would work o k.We left the door slightly open.. Closed door & used for a while until the oven lite went out.Unpluged &replaced the bulb. Plugging in with the oven door open I could hear a low motor sound & clicking noise inside the oven cavity. I opened the control panel. Looking behind the circuit board I could see the small door between the oven cavity & the control panel constantly opening and closing. Power on main oven door open. What do I need for repair??? THANKS
1 Answer Ron, With the damper motor constantly opening and closing, this would be an indicator of a stuck relay on the control board. This would require the control board to be replaced. The part number for the control board is WB27X10866. Read More...
Jorge March 01, 2014 for Model Number PVM1790DR1WW I already changed the primary switch on my microwave which I know was defective. The unit will not respond to the start switch after I enter time cook say 15 sec. The timer does work. Other functions like defrost, etc do not work. Vent hood and light ok.
1 Answer Hello Jorge. If you are sure the switches are good, and the start does not work, you will need to replace the control panel WB07X11342 if the button is bad. If the issue continues, you have a control board issue, and you will replace the board WB27X10866. Read More...
