NC GE Owner, If the control is able to be programmed but will not heat it would be recommended to test the door switches on the unit.

Terry for Model Number JVM1540DM4WW

What is the part number for the smart board for this unit? This GE microwave does not respond to any button. The message panel does not light. The fan does not come on. Everything stopped at once with no warning. All functions worked fine before unit quit. Power source is ok. Circuit breaker is on and ok. I noticed what looked like a connection failure at the upper left corner of the display. The clear plastic housing of the display is darkened on the inside by a black 3/8" diameter area that extends around the side. It looks to me like the dark area was caused by heat at a failed electrical connection or possibly by heat during assembly. The complete lack of the microwave' function accompanied by this dark area in the display of the smart board causes me to think that the smart board may be the problem. Am I correct? If I am, please send me the part number for the smart board for a GE model JVM1540DM4ww microwave. Thanks for any answer that you send me. Terry

Terry, The smartboard on this unit will be WB27X10931 but would suggest testing the fuse in the unit as it would be the most likely issue followed by the control board.

Mahesh for Model Number JNM1541DM4BB, GE counter top Microwave

The schematic and the wiring drawing (found rolled behind the control panel) and actual information on control PCB do not match. The relay reference numbers, screen printed operating function do not match. On the boards and wiring to the control board. The microwave had stopped working, no display, after smoke from counter top. The three TCO, as per circuit diagram, Bottom TCO, Hood TCo and Cavity TCO replace, all TCO are in "closed" condition. All the functions of microwave are ok, except the vent fan is always running at "slow" speed. The vent fan speed changes to "High" and "Low", but never "OFF". Thank you in advance. Mahesh

Mahesh, With the vent fan never shutting off then the issue will be caused by a faulty control board relay which the control board would need replaced. The part number for the control board is WB27X10931.

Wireless mind, The most common cause for the activent to not open would be that the motor has failed. To test this you would want to check the motor at the start and see if there is 120 vac. If not then the issue would be the smart board and if there is 120 vac then the motor is faulty and would need replaced.

Hi Eric. Remove the top grill, and control panel top plate. This will give access to the top control panel mount screw. Remove this screw and lift up and out to access the wiring diagram and tech sheet. This will guide you in the component checks. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. You need to see if the control panel(keypad) is inoperative. Or if the ribbon cable going to the control board part # WB27X10931 is bad. It comes with the keypad. You use the ohm meter on the end of the keypad ribbon cable and press the bad keypad keys to see if they are opening or closing. If the ribbon cable is good then focus on the lamp relay yellow wire output from the board 120 volts to ground. If you do not get the output on this wire then replace the smart board. Thank You.

Hello James. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WB07X11008 is bad and will need to be replaced. Make sure the ribbon cable is clean and is seated good on the smart board. If so, and some buttons does not work, replace the control panel. Hope this helps.
