Fred September 05, 2012 for Model Number RGB508ET4WH I have a Hotpoint. When the stove is off you can hear it some times spark. I have replaced the spark module but you can see the top electrode still spark. Can you try to tell me what part I need to order from you?
1 Answer Hello Fred, The spark module provides the spark, but it doesn't initiate the spark. The start switches WB24K16 do that. You have probably spilled something that has made its' way inside one of the start switches. If the problem is intermittent, it may be hard to pinpoint which one is causing the issue. Read More...
Njmom May 16, 2012 My back burner will not lite when I turn the knob to ignite, yet it will lite manually. Is this the part that I need to replace? I have tried cleaning the burners and the electrode and nothing worked
1 Answer Hello NJMOM. Test the valve switch WB24K10003 for that burner and make sure it is closing when the burner is turned on. If so, you will need to replace the spark module on the unit. If it is not closing, replace the switch WB24K10003. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
