The Ice Stripper is an OEM Replacement Part designed for rear-mount icemakers in GE refrigerators. This part measures approximately 7.25 x 2.5 inches. The ice stripper functions during the ejection cycle to remove ice from the icemaker mold. This white and plastic part facilitates the transfer of ice cubes from the ice maker into the ice bucket.

Causes of a bad ice stripper can include regular wear and tear from frequent use, exposure to hard water deposits, and accidental impacts or mishandling. Over time, the stripper can crack, break, or become inefficient at removing ice cubes.

Symptoms of a bad ice stripper include:

  • Ice cubes not being properly dispensed into the ice bin
  • Ice cubes getting stuck in the mold
  • The ice maker not producing ice as efficiently
  • Visible damage or wear on the stripper

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models

For Ge Ice Stripper (Part Number: OEM13240767)

Judy for Model Number GE TFX20JASMWH

Ice Stripper AP 2068294 Looks exactly like the one that broke but this part is 9" L. Site references Ice Stripper AP 4413586 for 7", but looks entirely different. Will it work?? The original ice maker was replaced with WR30x10061 by a local repairman in 2011. It seems that ice maker has now been replaced by WR 30X10093, but Compatibility box says its not compatible. Looked at new icemaker AP4345120 that cross refences to WR30X10061 Compatibility Box, it says its not compatible. All of you videos show the ice maker installed on the back wall, Mine is on the left side wall. What's up?? I'll buy a new Ice Maker as long as I know it will work in my old, old side by side.

Judy, The ice stripper for your ice maker is not available separately from the ice maker. The correct icemaker for your unit will e WR30X10093 and can be rear-mounted or side-mounted.

Emilie, if the ice stripper did not seat properly, it can cause it to pop out. You will want to take the icemaker out to install the ice stripper to ensure that it seats properly. We have a repair video available that can be located beneath the image of the ice stripper WR29X10085 to assist with changing out this item.

Leon for Model Number PSC23SGPASS

I purchased the AP4413586 ice stripper. The first issue I noticed is that the part looks different. The part I received included a tab on the back that looks like it keeps the stripper a certain distance from the ice machine. The part I removed from the ice maker does not have that same tab. After installation (simple, thanks to your videos) I noticed that the part of the ice maker that spins to actually get the ice out was hitting, bending, and getting hung up on the arms of the stripper. It was happening with the two arms on the left most side of the ice maker looking at it as it sits in the freezer -- the two wide ones, not the skinny one on the far left. The part I was replacing had both those arms broken, so I'm wondering if I have a problem with my ice maker iteself, or at least the arm that rotates. I ended up using a Dremel to trim those down but I'm thinking I may have a more serious issues. Any advice?

Leon, This issue sounds like the stripper arm that rotates would be faulty and would need to replace the icemaker. You can try with the part dremmeled but may be necessary for a new icemaker.

Hello Shawn, there is a possibility of two that were used. If your stripper is about 9 inches long order WR30X10093. If the stripper is about 7 inches long order WR29X10085. Thanks!

Harriet for Model Number Refrigerator gts18khpvrww

I am the same person who asked the question about removing the cover. I do not have three screws on my ice maker, as per your instructions. I believe that GE changed the ice maker on this refrigerator. Mine is five years old. When I first ordered the stripper I got a part that did not fit and customer service told me that GE had changed parts. When I open my freezer and look at the ice maker all I see is a solid white piece of plastic. No screws at all. It seems as if it could be pried off but I do not want to force it. PLEASE HELP!! Thank you.

Hello Harriet. If there is no screws, you can unsnap the cover from the unit then.

Hi Mike. Remove the front cover. There are 3 front screws that hold the head to the cube tray assy. Loosen them just enough to separate the cube tray just enough to remove the ice stripper part # WR29X10085. Make sure all heater (under the cube tray) and the ejector inner blades are positioned correctly before tightening the screws. Thank You.

Hello Richard. Check and see if the cubes are to large or hollow. If so, you may have a bad water valve WR57X33326 causing the problem. Hope this helps.
