Johan April 22, 2018 for Model Number DWSR463EG1WW My dryer stays hot even after being turned off after a while after drying the cloth. The dryer dries the cloth very good, but after being in the off position seems to be staying hot
1 Answer Johan, The most likely issue is a "shorted" heater element WE11M23 . Either, one of the element broke and is touching the element housing, or a small piece of metal or a coin has gotten into the heater housing and has shorted the element. This allows for a constant 120 VAC to the element causing it to remain energized and heating even when the dryer is off. Read More...

Mark September 21, 2017 for Model Number GRDN510GM0WS Hi, I have a GE dryer, GRDN510GM0WS. It doesn't shut off. Doesn't matter what cycle it's on or if it's on the timer, it just keeps running. I use a timer upstairs then go down and get the clothes when it goes off. A timer or a thermostat? Help please.
1 Answer Hello Mark, if your timer continues to advance past off and doesn't turn the unit off more than like you have a defective timer WE4M527. Thanks! Read More...

Annie June 25, 2017 for Model Number GTDP490ED3WS I have a 3 year old GE dryer (model number: GTDP490ED3WS) and it stopped running. The start switch buzzes when pushed. The door light comes on when opened. I was able to "jump start" the dryer by pressing in the door switch, spinning the drum and pushing the start button. The dryer turns on but there is a strong burning smell. It does heat. So far I have replaced the start switch, the door switch and the thermal fuse as well as flipping the breaker. I have cleaned the dryer as well as the tubing thoroughly. (It was EXTREMELY dirty at first though) I replaced the parts despite them all having continuity. All of the thermostats have continuity as well (though I did not completely pull them out of the dryer before testing continuity). Can anyone help me? PLEASE?
1 Answer Annie, With having to turn the drum by hand while pushing the start button then this would be a bad start winding on the motor and will require the motor to be replaced. Read More...

Jim L August 31, 2015 I have a DPSR610GG9WT dryer. I've taken it apart and cleaned it. I've checked all the thermal switches and they all have continuity. The gas will actually light, but switch off after about a minute of operation. Any ideas to what the issue could be?
1 Answer Hello Jim. You will need to check the gas coils on the unit. If they are bad it can cause this issue. Also, make sure the thermostats are resetting properly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
