This main control board replaces the washer's primary electronic controller to restore cycle selection and timed operations. It re-establishes the washer's command logic so cycles start, advance, and end correctly. What it does:

  • Interprets user inputs and runs the wash cycle sequence (fill, agitate, drain, spin)
  • Controls timers, motor relay signals, and valve/actuator commands
  • Can resolve symptoms like no cycle start, stuck or repeating cycles, unresponsive controls, or erratic behavior
  • Works with related sensors and switches to coordinate machine functions
What's included:
  • One main control board
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing to avoid shock or board damage
  • Handle the board by edges and avoid static discharge; use ESD protection if available
  • Verify connector positions and seating; transfer any required standoffs or mounting hardware from the old board

The water temp. is controlled by a thermistor or thermostat located in the water flow, and the control board. Without a proper model number, we are unable to diagnose and determine the problem with the washer. Please re-post your question and include the model number of the washer from the production serial tag on the machine. Thanks,

Dave, based on the information provided, the washer would need to be placed into a field service mode so that an error code can be retrieved. This will allow the determination of where the failure could be.

Ernie, You will want to check the inverter board and there should be a flashing light. Check the flashing light to see how many times it is flashing and use the tech sheet to see what the flashing pattern means.

Jerry, the control will cause the motor to rotate so that the washer agitates. However, the drive shaft does have a shifter WH38X10019 in it that is responsible for engaging and disengaging the basket .

Joe for Model Number GTWN4250D0WS

My washer does some strange things; on filling it will not allow hot water unless you leave the lid open; as soon as you close the lid water switches to cold. This does not happen on auto load sensing option; then there is no hot at all just cold and the water shuts off with the lid open. Real weird, it was normal when new. Also the auto sensing load and small load option doesn't really seem to work well it allows more water than it should. I'm not too concerned with that. I assume the control board has a glitch and should be replaced to fix this. I no you have the part but do you have any written or video instructions on getting the front face off to access this.

1 Answer

Joe, The correct control assembly for the model number you supplied is WH12X10614C, and access is relatively easy. Remove power to the washer, remove the four(4) screws across the top of the control panel, and "roll" the control panel down and onto the top of the washer. Take photos or label all the connectors and wires, remove the four(4) screws that mount the control to the bracket, and remove the control. Reverse the procedure, restore power and check the washer for operation.
