This main control board replaces the washer's primary electronic controller to restore cycle selection and timed operations. It re-establishes the washer's command logic so cycles start, advance, and end correctly. What it does:

  • Interprets user inputs and runs the wash cycle sequence (fill, agitate, drain, spin)
  • Controls timers, motor relay signals, and valve/actuator commands
  • Can resolve symptoms like no cycle start, stuck or repeating cycles, unresponsive controls, or erratic behavior
  • Works with related sensors and switches to coordinate machine functions
What's included:
  • One main control board
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing to avoid shock or board damage
  • Handle the board by edges and avoid static discharge; use ESD protection if available
  • Verify connector positions and seating; transfer any required standoffs or mounting hardware from the old board

For Ge Main Control Board (Machine Electronic Control) (Part Number: OEM24168189)

Hello John, Tilting the machine would have nothing to do with this issue. You should actually remove the front panel and carefully unwind the black cloth tape from the harness on the left side of the inside of the cabinet and if there is a black section in the white wire with a red trace, cut it out and splice the wires together. Rewrap the wires with the black cloth tape and try it again. You cannot replace the fusible link since the manufacturer has discontinued it. This should re-establish power to the motor assembly.

Washer beeps when started, like it does when the lid is up, but in reality the lid is closed. Washer will fill and we've gotten it to pump out by turning knob to the "drain and spin" setting , but it does not spin here or in any other mode. Control panel diagnostic indicates no fill (knob position 3, rinse light lit) and I'm not sure if that's correct. All other knob positions during control panel diagnostics seem OK. Motor status indicator has flashed 10 times while trying different things and usually went back to 10 flashes after removing power and retrying it. Just seeing on-off heartbeats on it right right now. We run well water in the washer and rarely use bleach.

Joe, The 10 flashes on the motor control will indicate that there is a communication error with the main board. The recommendation is to replace the control board in the backsplash and if this does not correct the issue then the motor would need replaced.

Michael, You will want to access the tech sheet located inside the unit and it will have instructions for putting the unit into diagnostics. The indicator lights will flash in a sequence which will be the code. You will want to check the tech sheet for this information.

Jay, You will want to open the unit up and check the led light on the motor for flashing. Using the tech sheet count the flashes and see if it is an error code. If there is an error code then it will tell you based on how many flashes.

Hello Butch. It could be the board. However, Make sure the pressure hose is not clogged and the air dome is clear. If not, this model will not go into spin cycle.

We have had this washing machine for a couple years. We have been having issues with it starting for the couple months or so and now it will not start at all. You can set all the controls where you want them and all the lights light up as normal but nothing happens when you push the start button. Originally it started on a single push of the button but over the last few months we had to push the button several time to get it started and sometimes we had to wait a couple minutes and then pushing the start button would get it to go. Is this a control board issue? It looks like the start button is an integral part of the board.

1 Answer

Hello Kevin. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control assembly WH12X10614C is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
