Hello Bill, This can be caused by sticky residue from ice splattering into drinks causing the switch WR23X366 to hang in the actuated position. The switch will need to be replaced if cleaning the actuating parts does not clear the issue.

Hello Frank, This is not a difficult repair. As long as you unplug the unit and turn the water off to it, all you need to remember is to remove one thing at a time and place it on the new part until the new part is interchanged. Once completed, remember to turn the water back on, re-establish the electrical connection, and check for leaks, THEN put the covers back on. If you follow this advice, you should have no problems.

Doug, The water valve may be the cause of failure. You will need to check voltage at the water valve to see if the valve is energizing when the icemaker calls for water. If there is 120 vac and the fill tube is not frozen then you would want to replace the water valve. In most cases the water valve is located on this unit under the front of the unit or it is located in the upper section of the unit.
