Perplexed September 29, 2018 for Model Number LG WM2277HW The washer is 13yrs old and needed some upgrading before I tried to sell it. Some years ago it developed a light knocking noise from the tub. It sounds like pecking your fingers on the desk. It only makes the noise during the slow speed such as all of the wash and rinse cycles. When it spins high speed it is quiet as a mouse from dead stop to high speed. It sounds like noise is transmitted from the motor and can be heard from the outer drum. Nothing is rubbing, and I have replaced the bearings, seal, door gasket, spider, motor stator and phase sensor. The noise was there before the rebuild and is exactly the same after. It never made this noise when it was new and for a years after, then one day it just started and has been there ever since. The washer runs and cleans fine. It doesn't seem to affect the performance and doesn't seem to get any worse, but I just can't seem to get rid of this knock. Any ideas? I thought maybe it might be the control board that operates the motor causing it to be noisy, I have replaced about everything else. Thanks
1 Answer Perplexed, Check the springs that support the drum to make sure that the springs are good. Also check ti make sure that the RPS sensor is fully locked in place and not loose. Read More...
Charlotte August 03, 2015 for Model Number WM2650H*A The bottom counter weight has pulled off the stars but nothing is broken or damaged. All I see is that maybe to use a larger screw to spread the star for more pressure to keep the counter weight in position. That hardly seems sufficient enough for the spinning and movement the unit does. Is there another solution to keeping the counter weight in position such as using a washer possible? Please advise the correct fix for I wouldn't want to cause any damage since none has been done at this time. Thank you.
1 Answer Charlotte, You could try a larger screw to spread the stars to hold the counterweight in but it would be recommended if they original screws are not working to replace the tub cover which is the correct repair. Read More...
Charlotte August 01, 2015 for Model Number WM2650H The bottom cement counter weight has pulled off the spiders but the spiders are not cracked or broken and the cement counter weight seems to be in good shape also. it has some small cracks from the beating before we diagnosed the problem but not serious enough to lose any cement. It seems to be held only by pressure from the screws expanding the spiders. Is there any other solution to attaching the counter weights?
1 Answer Charlotte, If the screws will not screw back into the counterweight then it will be necessary to replace the tub cover. Read More...

Ps101 July 18, 2015 for Model Number wm2277hw The upper counterbalance on the external tub broke off. It fell and hit the door switch breaking the door switch. What parts do in need to replace the front of the tub and the counterweight? The front of the tub, the gasket, counter weights, door switch---any thing else? and how hard is this repair. Also what would cause this to happen?
1 Answer PS101, If the outer tub did not break then it would not need to be replaced. The part numbers for the outer tub 3550ER0004H, balance weight 4866ER0007A and the door latch is EBF49827801. Read More...
Peter March 12, 2015 for Model Number WM1832CW I just changed both bearings the seal spider and drum gasket ,repair went well ,doing first load in spin cycle the machine which is level started to walk out, what could be wrong. Could I have put weights on wrong.
1 Answer Hello Peter, Make sure the springs that support the tub are in the rear-most slots, the struts/shocks are all properly connected and not damaged, and the weight of the machine is equally distributed on all four feet. If these conditions exist and the weights are not loose, the issue is going to be with the spin baskets' installation on the spider. Read More...
Linda May 15, 2014 for Model Number LG WM2455H I replaced the bearings in my machine (thanks to your awesome videos!) and in puttting it back together, I noticed the cement or whatever that is in the lower balance weight has cracked and some of it probably fell out when the machine was shaking. Is there a way to fix this or do I need to buy a whole new weight? Thanks for all your help!
Dave February 09, 2014 for Model Number wm2277hw I am trying to convert my washer from one without a drain in the door gasket, to with. What balance weight do I need to use? The current weight does not have a channel for the drain hose.
