Susan February 01, 2020 for Model Number LFCS27596S/01 I have a reverse osmosis filter system installed under my kitchen sink. The water line for the refrigerator is connected to it also. Is ABN 73019101 the correct bypass for my LG refrigerator? Before the RO system our water pressure from our well was 30psi. Would both filters on the water line for the ice maker stop ice production? Would the bypass allow it to make ice again?
1 Answer Susan, the filter should be able to be removed and the unit work appropriately. Both filters being in place can certainly cause the water pressure to be too low for the valve to open properly. The reverse osmosis system is going to drop the pressure by a minimum of 5 PSI and the filter would drop it another 3 to 5 PSI. As there is 30PSI going to the reverse osmosis system, the pressure drop would bring the PSI below the minimum requirements of the valve. It would be recommended that the refrigerator water supply be installed before the reverse osmosis system to allow for the valves to operate as properly as possible. The manufacturer recommends a minimum of 40PSI going to a reverse osmosis system that is installed before the valve water supply. Read More...
