Nicholas August 20, 2020 for Model Number 79572053110 I am having a problem where there is water building up at the bottom of the inside of my fridge (freezer area is fine). I am not sure what part I would need to replace to troubleshoot this.
1 Answer Nicholas, Most of the time the water is building up because the defrost drain line is clogged. This unit has evaporator coils behind the rear cover in the refrigerator section that needs to be defrosted every 8 hours or so and the result is that frost turns to water and needs to drain out. I use a garden sprayer with hot water to pump out and spray down the tube till its clear after i have removed any ice build up. The drain hole will be under the coils possibly covered with ice. Tk July 13, 2020 for Model Number 79571036010 Hello. My refrigerator is not getting cold enough. The compressor runs and cycles (turns on and off periodically), and the fridge section holds 38F, but the freezer only gets to about 25F. This had only changed recently, when it used to hold about 5F. There is no excessive frosting on the evap coil that I can see without pulling the panel, and I don't see any sign of a leak near the compressor (oil), and the condenser coils are clean and the fan is running. One other oddity is that when I cycle through the freezer settings on the front panel, it skips a couple of numbers, ie, button presses show 0, -1, -2 -3, -4 then skips -5, then shows -6, and also skips +7 in the above zero section Is the problem likely a bad sensor in the freezer section, a bad controller board, or a bad compressor or compressor charge? The unit is about 8 yrs old and had run without issue up until now.
1 Answer TK, You will need to pull the rear panel and check the coils for a frost pattern. Half frost pattern while running indicates a sealed system issue and full frost pattern then probably the temp sensor if the compressor and fans are running. Don't forget the condenser fan in the back needs to be running also whenever the compressor is running. Condensor coils must be clean as well. Read More...
Rudy May 02, 2020 for Model Number lfc25776st/03 my refrigerator lg model lfc25776st/03 is not cooling at all, compressor is running , condenser fan motor is working
1 Answer Rudy, it would be recommended that the evaporator is inspected to identify if there is a frost pattern. If there is not a frost pattern, with the compressor operating it would indicate a sealed system issue. If this is the case, an EPA certified individual would be necessary to identify what has failed in the sealed system. However, if there is a frost pattern blocking up the evaporator, this would indicate a defrost issue. The defrost heater 5300JK1005K and fuse (part of the defrost sensor control wire 6615JB2005N) can be tested by testing at the main control. At connection CON3 pin 9 to pin 2, there should be a resistance reading between 34 to 42O. The defrost sensor should measure more than 38KO if the evaporator is frozen up. Read More...
Tim March 23, 2020 for Model Number Lfx31925st LG Lfx31925st thermistor values are 5k at room temp and 15 k at 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Are these values correct. My freezer stopped freezing, the condenser coils are clean, the condenser fan is running, and the compressor is humming. Thanks
1 Answer Tim, Here are the values for the freezer sensor -22°F / -30°C 40K, -13°F / -25°C 30K, -4°F / -20°C 23K, 5°F / -15°C 17K, 14°F / -10°C 13K, 23°F / -5°C, 10K, 32°F / 0°C 8K. For the refrigerator sensor the values will be 23°F / -5°C 38K, 32°F / 0°C 30K, 41°F / 5°C 24K, 50°F / 10°C, 19.5K, 59°F / 15°C 16K. Icing Sensor will be the same as the freezer sensor. Defrost sensor will be 23°F / -5°C 38K, 32°F / 0°C 30K, 41°F / 5°C 41K, 50°F / 10°C 19.5K, 59°F / 15°C 16K. Read More...
Bill Hess February 25, 2020 for Model Number LMXS28626S/00 Was curious to know what the ohms reading should be on the temperature sensor in the freezer at 70 degrees F and 32 degrees F.. also curious what the ohms reading on the thermistor should be at those same temps. Thanks!
1 Answer Bill, The temperature sensor for the refrigerator section will be 30K at 32 F and approximately 5K at room temp of 70 F. The sensor and thermistor should be the same reading for the refrigerator compartment. Read More...
Philippe December 10, 2019 for Model Number LFX25978ST/00 My LG LFX25978ST french door refrigerator is not cooling at all. The fan is running but the compressor does not start and a low voltage (around 10 V) is read at the compressor.
1 Answer Phillippe, We will send you a tech sheet on how to test the components of the compressor circuit. Read More...

Mark December 31, 2018 for Model Number LFXS29766S/01 Greeting. My refrigerator holds temp of 42 degrees, freezer holds temp slightly colder. Coils clean. Evap fan works.
1 Answer Mark, You will need to gain access to the evaporator and check for a frost pattern on the coils. It sounds like you could have a leak or faulty compressor may be running not pumping the refrigerant. You should see the same frost coming to the evaporator and leaving. Read More...
Kp December 03, 2018 for Model Number LFXS30766S is my thermistor bad? room temp: 2.6k ohms 36F: 5K ohms 0F: 8K ohms what is the spec of the thermistor?
Kp December 02, 2018 for Model Number LFXS30766S how do test the sensor to see if it is bad? My is only 2.6k ohms. the fridge is not cold at all. the compressor and condensor seem to be working, but no fan on the evaporator. The fan motor is good. Maybe the sensor is bad or the main control board? i do i test them. Please advise. Thanks!
1 Answer KP, Your refrigerator would have to be about 115 degrees if that temp sensor was correct. You should have a reading of around between 25 to 30 k ohms. Sounds like your thermister needs replaced. Read More...
