The Water Supply Line is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. It is responsible for delivering water from the household supply to the refrigerator's water dispenser and ice maker. This line ensures a consistent flow of water, crucial for producing ice and dispensing chilled water.

Over time, water supply lines can wear out or become damaged due to factors such as mineral buildup, kinks, or punctures. These issues can lead to leaks or reduced water flow, affecting the refrigerator's functionality.

Symptoms of a bad Water Supply Line include:

  • Leaks or puddles around the refrigerator
  • Reduced or no water flow to the dispenser
  • Ice maker not producing ice
  • Unusual noises when the dispenser is used

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

J.P., You will want to make sure that the tubing slid all the way into the fitting. If this does not correct then it sounds like the fitting may be faulty.

The plastic line that runs from the water inlet valve across the back of the refrigerator cracked and I ordered the replacement line. I also had to order a new inlet valve assembly because the old one showed signs of mineral deposits on it from a slow water leak. By the way I have used your videos to repair other appliances, but the one for the water inlet valve replacement doesn't have the same connectors as the new water inlet valve I ordered. How do you get to the upper connection on the plastic line to change it out and how do you break the connections on the old water inlet valve with the existing plastic lines and reconnect the lines on the new water inlet valve?

1 Answer

Hello Ken. The water valves uses compression fittings. Most have a locking clip you need to remove before you can press on the fitting and release the water lines on the unit. The main supply line will unscrew from the single valve. To replace the damaged line you have to remove the cover on the back and then the filter housing to remove and replace the lines on the unit.

Hello Jill, I'm sure there is a way to repair this but we do not have this type of information since we mainly do appliance repairs. You will need to contact a company that deals with large water storage tanks, especially if the water is for human consumption.

WHAT IS THE PART NUMBER for the white plastic line tubing that runs from back of this refrigerator towards to push-in connector at the lower front of the refrigerator. This white line tubing runs parallel to the blue plastic line tubing that also comes from the back of the refrigerator. Both of these lines after meeting the push-in connectors at the front lower half of the refrigerator goes up into the freezer door. Not sure if my white plastic line (cracked) feeds the ice maker or the water dispenser? I need a new white plastic tubing line? Seems to be that these lines are a common problem in cracking, recently I had to change the line at the back of refrigerator.
