Tom December 28, 2022 for Model Number LG LFX31945 How do you test the refrigerator water valve to see if it is defective?
1 Answer Tom, the water valve can be tested for 120VAC when either the water dispenser is being pressed or the ice maker is calling for water. If there is voltage, the tubing from the single connector side can be removed and the valve aimed into a cup. If water comes through when the water dispenser is pressed, the next step is to re-insert the tubing and remove the one across from it. The tubing would then be aimed into the cup and the water dispenser pressed to identify if the water is passing through the filter. If it is, the next step would be re-inserting that tubing and removing the last 5/16" tubing. With the open connector aimed into a cup, the dispenser would be pressed. If water passes through the valve but water was not dispensing prior to testing, there is a frozen line. If water does not come through the valve, the valve has failed. The same can be done for the 1/4" tubing that leads to the ice maker when it is set to call for water by pressing the reset on the ice maker. Read More...

Danny P March 22, 2021 for Model Number LSC24971ST The ice maker water line was dripping , the water was coming out of the door fine. replaced the water water valve. Now I have no water coming out anywhere. The filter was replaced about a moth ago. what's going on ??
1 Answer Danny, Check to make sure that the hoses are not frozen or clogged up, Also, check to make sure that there is power getting to the valve when the unit calls for water to the icemaker or the dispenser. If there is power then it is likely that the filter head may be the issue with the unit. Read More...
John January 18, 2021 for Model Number LSC27925ST My refrigerator leaks at the water inlet. I do not need the entire water inlet valve assembly (Part #AP4445614), just the separate smaller part which attaches to Part AP4445614 into which the water line is inserted. This is not included with the water inlet valve assembly. My water valve assembly works fine, but this smaller part is rusted out and allows water to leak.
1 Answer Hello John, the manufacturer only offers the complete water valve assembly 5221JA2006D located at the rear bottom of the ref. Read More...
Craig September 12, 2020 for Model Number Mjx41178908 I bought this replacement part for my water inlet on an LG refrigerator. The original part number appears not to be made anymore. The original part was 5220 QJB 2009A. On the description it says this is the new part since the other piece was discontinued. However, the water line wire harness had four prongs, and the new water inlet only has two prongs. Could I splice the two together to make one clip. Is there a separate wire harness I need to purchase?
1 Answer Craig, if the model number of your appliance could be provided in a new question, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. Read More...
