John B. January 26, 2018 for Model Number RF261BEAESR/AA My internal water dispenser won't shut off. Repairman coming says its the water inlet valve. Do you agree? If yes is it inside the Tray assembly? Can you replace just the inlet or must the entire tray be replaced?
1 Answer Hello John, If the technician checked and found the water valve was bad we would have to agree since we are not there to troubleshoot. The water valve DA62-03150F is included in the water filter case assembly DA82-02869A but has been made no longer available individually by the manufacturer. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Sasha December 26, 2017 for Model Number RF24FSEDBSR/AA-0000 How do you install the Filter Assembly Assembly - DA97-11433A? I accidentally pulled it up.
1 Answer Sasha, To replace the filter case assembly you will first need to remove the vegetable and fruit drawer which at the front of the drawer there will be 2 push tabs that you will need to push in on to release then pull the shelf out. This will then be held in by a couple screws that you will take out. You will also need to disconnect the water lines in the back of the unit. Read More...
Jim December 26, 2017 for Model Number DA97-11433A Samsung RFG297HDRS. Water was pouring out of Ice Dispenser. Replaced Ice Dispenser. Water dispenser works, Icemaker still does not produce ice. Figure now it was not the dispenser that was the issue. Does the DA97-11433A Water filter housing function as the Water Inlet Valve as well or is there a separate Water Inlet Valve for this model? I don't see one on the parts diagrams. I now think the issue would be a water valve issue that supplies the Ice dispenser. Would the DA97-11433A fix the valve issue with the Ice Dispenser or would you know of another part needed? Thanks.
1 Answer Jim, There is a water valve in the case tank assembly which would supply to the icemaker and to the dispenser and will likely be the issue with the unit. Read More...
Clifton Fischlein December 09, 2017 for Model Number RFG298HDRS/XAA-0000 When replacing the water tank assembly (DA97-11433A), how/where do you disconnect the water line to the upper ice maker ? Also, for the blue line that goes to the door water dispenser, is there an internal conduit so if you pull the line out the new one will come up through the hole in the top like it is supposed to or should you attach a string to the old one before pulling it out in order to guide the new one to the right place ?
1 Answer Clifton, There should be a connector on the bottom of the freezer door to disconnect the tubing for the door and for the icemaker then it will most likely have a connector at the point where it enters the unit. Read More...
Shawn Hill October 28, 2017 for Model Number RFG297HDRS/XAA Are the RFG297HDRS/XAA & the XAA-001 the same? I've been looking for a water inlet valve, when it asks if it's compatible it says that the RFG297HDRS/XAA is not compatible but the RFG297HDRS/XAA-001 is. My ice maker seems to be working fine. I have a thin sheet of ice under the crisper & low water pressure. I am assuming I need to replace the water filter tank. I just hate to spend $170 & not fix the problem. Thanks
1 Answer Shawn, Yes these 2 models will be the same when it comes to the water filter tank. Read More...
Gary August 10, 2017 for Model Number Samsung RFG29PHDRS/XAA In this thread, "Mike" asked about the replaced part having 3 connections (molex-type), but the replacement part only having two. 3 third connection "appeared" to be a small boost pump, but could've just been a valve. Has there been any further clarification from Samsung as to the replacement part working correctly in these models?
1 Answer Gary, The 3rd connection does not appear to be needed on the new part and should not hurt the function of the unit with nothing being connected. Read More...
Doug L March 03, 2017 for Model Number RFG297HDRS/XXA My Samsung refrigerator makes a very loud noise when either dispensing water or when the ice tray refills. It is very loud vibrating sound. I did some web search and most say it’s most likely the Water Filter Tank Assembly (part # AP5332060). However, some said that it could also be the Filter Head, which is much cheaper. Can you direct me for the correct Filter Head part number? Thanks SAMSUNG MODEL RFG297HDRS/XXA
1 Answer Doug, This issue would most likely be caused by the filter head but according to the manufacturer this can only be gotten by getting the filter case assembly DA97-11433A. Read More...
Mike January 21, 2017 for Model Number RFG29PHDRS/XAA Replacing water tank assembly with DA97-11433A, new part only has 2 electrical connectors, the old one has 3. Vendor says it is the only part available
1 Answer Mike, According to the manufacturer this water tank DA97-11433A will be the correct tank for your unit This may be a manufacturer design change in which there is only 2 connections that would need to be connected and the 3rd would have been removed and not needed. Read More...
Tommy September 26, 2016 for Model Number Samsung RF31FMEDBSR refrigerator Hello. It sounds simple, but I cannot figure out how to separate the bottom fruite/vegetable drawer shelf unit (its the shelf unit that holds the fruit/vegetable drawers, and specifically it's the plastic support unit as I've removed the glass) from the water filter housing unit. I have a replacement part in hand, but the images on Samsung's website about how to separate the two do not match my refrigerator or part. I've spent over an hour on the phone with Samsung reps, but they appear to be limited to the standard Samsung "do this". And since their "do this" does not match my parts/fridge, they could not help. Any advice?
1 Answer Tommy, On the underside where the support goes into the shelf there will be a tab on either side. You will depress these tabs in order to remove the shelf from the support. Read More...
Ashley F August 24, 2016 for Model Number RFG29PHDRS/XAA My Samsung refrigerator RFG29PHDRS/XAA suddenly started continuously leaking water from the upper ice maker and running down the front of the fridge. I had to turn off the water to get it to stop. From research, it seems it may be the water inlet valve is defective. Does this seem correct? Is it possible to replace the inlet valve part without replacing the whole water filter assembly? Any help you could give would be appreciated! Thanks!
1 Answer Ashley, Unfortunately the water filter case assembly DA97-11433A will have to be gotten in order to get the water valve for this unit. Read More...
