Questions & Answers

For Samsung Dryer Guide Sensor Assembly (Part Number: OEM12630936)

Alison, it would be recommended that the terminal block is tested for 240VAC where the power cord connects to the dryer. If there is not 240VAC when testing from the red wire to the black wire with a meter, the outlet would need to be tested to identify if the power cord has failed or if there is a different issue. If there is 240VAC, the heater relay can be tested for voltage while the dryer is running. If the voltage reads 240VAC when testing from the black wire to the black wire, this identifies that the motor is operating and the thermistor DC32-00007A on the blower housing will need to be tested for resistance after unplugging the power cord. The thermistor should read 10K Ohms at room temperature. If it tests good, then the failure is in the main control MFS-DV327L-00 (unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the control and it is no longer available). If the thermistor fails, it would need to be replaced.

Billy, it would be recommended that the sensor bars are thoroughly cleaned as a thin residue can accumulate on the bars, preventing them from operating properly and causing a short cycle.

Hello Alan, suggest you check the exhaust duct/hose for the dryer, poor venting/airflow will cause the symptom you are describing.

Wayne, you may want to check to ensure that the sensors do not show continuity unless a moist item is applied to both sensor bars at the same time. If there is continuity, then you may want to identify where in the wiring that the sensors are bridging together as they are an open state unless moisture bridges them together. If the sensors check good, then you will have a main control [DC92-00123A] issue as this is responsible for receiving the input from the sensor circuit.
