Smiley May 17, 2015 for Model Number WF448AAP/XAA Since your last reply. I've been washing with cold water only and Notice the plastic piece and hose are fine now. They obviously do not heat up and burst open anymore, but one problem I continue having is that it keeps snapping out of place causing a lot of water to leak out. It seems like some kind of pressure issue may be causing this. But I don't know what part may be causing this. This pressure issue may be what's causing the temperature to heat up excessively then causing the hose and hose connector to burst open. Please help me narrow down the problem. Thanks again
1 Answer Smiley, You will want to check to make sure that there is no blockage of any kind in the ports of the dispenser assembly which could cause this type of pressure build up to occur. Read More...
Ryan May 16, 2015 for Model Number WF448AAP/XAA I've had this part fail on me twice in the last 5 months. After the first failure, we guessed it was due to our high water pressure and got a regulator valve for our entire water supply rated at 55 psi. Haven't had an issue in 3 months. Today the part burst again. Would love to know if there's another issue besides this part.
1 Answer Hello Ryan, If there are mineral deposits and sedimentation in the water supply, this can clog the openings on the bottom of DC97-14493A. This would cause the hose to basically have water pressure applied to it when this hose was actually designed to direct water flow. Read More...
Smiley March 07, 2015 for Model Number WF448AAP/XAA-0000 I've had the same issue with this part. I've replaced it numerous times now. I notice the hose get extremely hot which melts the plastic piece and causes the pipe to burst. What can possibly be causing this to heat up? It seems I may have to replace a different part. My washer has the steam wash.
1 Answer Smiley, You will want to make sure that you have the hose routed properly but the other thing that could cause this issue would be a runaway temperature on the steam kit. If there is a runaway temp issue then the steam kit would need to be replaced. The part number for the steam kit is DC97-09101J. Read More...

1 Answer Al, For a plastic part to melt there would have needed to have been extreme temperature. It may have just been a faulty component. Read More...
