Bud April 03, 2017 for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA-0000 Refrigerator will not dispense water or make ice. When pushing ice control on front of fridge for ice, the auger works and chute door opens. Water dispenser won't work either. Pressing the reset button on the side of the ice maker doesn't sound a chime or operate the ice maker. Water filter removed and still no water. Tried unplugging the refrigerator for 20 min. And still not working.

Matthew March 04, 2017 for Model Number RF263AEWP/XAA I purchased the ice maker (AP5651755) after a tenant of mine removed mine from the freezer at the home I rent out. After putting the new one in it still does not function. When I push the test button on the ice maker I don't hear any movement so I am not sure if it is the ice maker assembly I received or something else in the system that could be bad. Any other ideas? I am really trying to avoid hiring someone to come out. Could a bad control board or the water inlet valve? If those were bad would the test button at least work on the unit? The fridge and feezer both function perfectly fine (minus the ice maker). Any tips greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1 Answer Hello Mack. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
