Michael for Model Number RF266ABBP/XXA

I have an ice maker that needs to be replaced (DA97-05037A) I want to put a different one in it than the one that came in it. This one always chips the ice into little pieces. What a pain. The one I'm replacing is one that twists to loosen the ice. I want to put one in that has a heater to loosen to the ice. I very handy so modifying and making it fit isn’t the problem. I’m not good with electrical which brings me to the problem. The question I have is, can the electrical system handle the additional amp draw that a different ice maker would place on it? I didn't know if the controller board in the fridge would handle the additional draw. I don’t want to cause additional problems and damage the circuit board.

Hello Michael! Unfortunately, we are unable to recommend a replacement icemaker other than the original that is called for your unit by the manufacturer and are unable to recommend any information regarding the modifications needed to make the change. Sorry about that!
