Clyde September 19, 2019 for Model Number SAMSUNG RS261MDRS/XAA-01 Hello - this thing fell off inside our ice maker and showed up in ripped up chunks of plastic in our drinks. Took us awhile to figure out what was going on but we were sure when the foam insulating piece also fell out. Our question is can this be easily installed by us or will we need a repair person to put it back into place? Do we need to do anything other than replace the plastic cover? Thanks!

Tray turns and twists to dump cubes out 4. Tray returns to normal position 5. Water comes on and fills tray, then goes off Nothing more happens -- even two days later -- no ice. Pom March 02, 2016 for Model Number RB215LASH I have a Samsung with freezer on bottom. The motor was running a little louder then usual so I inspected the unit and found ice build up all over the back of the panel inside. What causes and how can I fix it
1 Answer Hello Pom. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the main board.
