Burned By Retail December 30, 2017 So it looks as if someone asked if this model has contacts on top. These metal contacts make contact with the ice maker and enable the electronic control in the door to switch between crushed and cubed. There are other models, such as DA97-14474A which do NOT have contacts on top that interface with the ice maker, but DO fit in the ice maker tray spot. Does this model, DA97-14474C, have metal contacts on the top of the unit?
1 Answer Burned by Retail, For this ice bucket there would not be contacts on it but a arm that goes from front to back. This rod goes into a solenoid that will lift the arm up and down for cubed to crushed. Read More...
Ed December 14, 2017 for Model Number Rf28jbedbsg/aa Does this part have the contacts on the top front for switching between cubed and crushed ice? I read somewhere that some Of these parts don’t come with them. I also have rev 05 on my serial tag if that helps.
1 Answer Ed, This ice bucket would not have a switch on it but there would be a solenoid beside the auger motor that would raise for cubed and stay down for crushed. The ice bucket will have an arm that slides into it. Read More...

Derek December 12, 2016 for Model Number RF28HFEDBSR/AA-0000 Ice is getting trapped between the ice maker and the chute and melting so next time I get ice it dumps the water from the melted ice before ice starts coming out. Don't know if the baffle/gasket between fridge door and ice maker isn't sealing well or it should be leaving ice there in the first place or the ice maker isn't getting cold enough.
1 Answer Derek, There should not be ice getting caught between the bin and the ice door and if there is then it sounds like ice door is closing too rapidly and not allowing all the ice to drop or the bin is allowing ice to slide past. It could be just a couple pieces that fall through. If this is occurring every time then you may want to check the ice cube size to make sure that it is not too small. If it is then that could cause this issue. Read More...

Mike August 23, 2016 for Model Number RF28HMEDBSR/AA-0000 Ice maker stopped working, water dispenser works fine. Refrigerator is only 16 month old
1 Answer Hello Mike. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
