Ronnie November 05, 2013 for Model Number samsung rb1944sl My Samsung fridge will run for a few hours and then stops cooling. I can unplug it and it will restart. Is this the mother board?
1 Answer Hello Ronnie. It sounds like the main control board is bad and will need to be replaced. Check and make sure there is no bad wiring before replacing the board. Read More...
Ricky R October 14, 2013 for Model Number rs264abrs Freezer works fine, but refrigerator side freezes over on coils and the fan will not work. Had the fan checked and it is good.
1 Answer Ricky, You will want to check the defrost sensor and the heater assembly in the refrigerator to ensure that they are good. If they check ok then you will want to replace the control board. If they are not good then replace the necessary part that is bad. Read More...
Charlie October 08, 2013 for Model Number Samsung RS2630SH Our Samsung RS2630SH refrig has slowly died. We noticed that the Ice cream started to get soft so I put a thermometer in the freezer and it varied between 0 and 40° F. I ordered and installed a new Defrost Sensor and a Thermo Bimetal Protector this evening and plugged in the refrig (with thermometer in it) After an hour the temp did not change. I pulled the refrig out and could not hear or feel and vibration from the compressor. I unplugged the refrig removed the main board cover on the back and plugged it back in. I could here the relays on the board click and both the evap and condensor fans started running, but no compressor. So I read some things on your website that it may be the start relay. I removed both the relay and the OLP(Overload Protector). I measure the voltage between the line going into the OLP and the line going into the Start Line , then I measured between the same line going into the OLP and the Run Line and both time I got a voltage of about 24 VAC and once the relays clicked on and the fans started running the voltage jumped up to 30VAC for the Start Line and about 35 VAC for the Run Line. Basically I was measuring voltage without both device attached when I did this. Does this indicate a bad relay? a bad run capacitor? or a bad compressor? Are there any other test I can preform to verify whats wrong such as hooking the compressor directly to 110AC? Any help is greatly appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Charlie. This indicates the main control board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Richard August 13, 2013 for Model Number Samsung RS2577SL After a power outage, the fridge totally does not work, no light, no compressor noise and the circuit is tripped. I changed to another outlet, still same thing and circuit get tripped right away. need to replace the starter relay and/or compressor ?
1 Answer Hello Richard. You need to look for a short directly to ground. Either a bad part or wire on the unit. It could be the main board in the back of the unit. Read More...
Derek February 23, 2013 for Model Number RS2630SH I just repalced the Condenser Fan Motor that went bad and now the frig/freezer will not get cold. I can hear the compressor clicks on then back off again. Do you think it's the Start Relay or does that sound like the compressor itself going bad? Just don't want to keep putting money into this if its more to it than that. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Derek, If the condensor fan failed then the most likely cause of the compressor not starting would be the relay. When the fan stops running it will cause compressor to overheat and shut down prematurely. When this happens the compressor will continually try to turn on. Because it is too hot it won't and will cause the relay to stop working. Read More...
Francisco October 27, 2012 for Model Number RM255BARB How do I remove the plastic cover of the start relay of the Samsung RM255BARB without breaking it?
1 Answer Hello Francisco, To remover the plastic cover on the compressor, there should be a clip or groove on the top of the cover. You want to take a pair of needle nose pliers under that clip and pull down to release the cover. Read More...

Gerry April 04, 2011 for Model Number Samsung rs2533sw The cooling does not work on both sides (freezer and refrigerator). We can hear a clicking noise every 3-5 minutes in the back. We assume it is the relay. Could it be anything else? How do we get off the relay cover (very snug) and how do we get off the relay? (almost inaccessible on the side of the compressor).
1 Answer Hello Gerry. The cover unsnaps off the side of the compressor, these are very tight. Once removed, the relay overload will pull off the side of the compressor.
