Ron January 19, 2020 for Model Number RS277ACPN My 10 yr old samusng french door fridge&fridge won't cool. The control panel shows temp 68 on fridger side and 66 on fridge side. The temp doesn't go down at all. Lights are on. I can hear click sound from the back of the fridge. I can hear humming sound on both side. The fan is also working. I touched compressor and it is warm. I took out the relay and no rattling sound when i shake it. Do you still think relay starter is bad? What is the part# for the relay if i want to order? Thanks,
1 Answer Ron, the relay is going to be part number DA35-00135A and should measure between 8O to 12O of resistance. If the relay tests good, then the compressor would be the failure and would require a technician for repairs. Read More...
Mike November 05, 2019 for Model Number samsung RS277ACRS Yesterday, my fridge quit completely. No lights inside, no temp display, no noises. I quickly checked the outlet for power and confirmed was on. Tried unplugging for a few hours then reconnecting. Sill nothing. Seems like a fuse or circuit breaker inside the fridge tripped. I'm wondering if it the compressor start relay or is it more simple than that. Or is it just toast? Thanks, Mike
1 Answer Mike, the main control can be tested for incoming voltage at the two-wire connector with a black wire and a red wire. This connection should have 120VAC when tested between the two wires. If there is 120VAC, then the main control would be the issue. If there is not 120VAC, then the noise filter would need to be tested for 120VAC incoming and outgoing voltages. If there is 120VAC going in (test between black and white wires from power cord) but not out (test between the black wire and the red wire going to main control), then the noise filter has failed. If there is not 120VAC going to the noise filter, but there is 120VAC at the outlet, then the power cord has failed. For the most accurate part numbers, the REV number will need to be used along with the model number. Read More...
Hovik September 26, 2019 for Model Number RS2577SL My fridge and freezer both stopped cooling and there was a clicking just like it was described in the video and I replaced the relay. My fridge still does not work and there is still a clicking sound with the new start relay. Should I replace the overload or is my compressor dead
1 Answer Hovik, For this issue, with the start device having been replaced and the symptom still occurring would be a faulty compressor that would need to be replaced. Read More...
John September 24, 2019 for Model Number RS2577SL The parts catalog for my fridge says this is the relay I need. The relay page says it is not compatible with my fridge. The relay in the video is the same one as mine. The relay in the pictures is a different relay. Which is it? Can I use this?
Eric January 23, 2018 for Model Number Model RF267AERS/XAA-0000 SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR i am getting the 5 blinking light on the inverter board, so many are having luck changing the relay and overload on compressor but i have not heard any mention the code blinking on their boards
1 Answer Eric, This error would be a compressor locking error. Replace the inverter board and if it continues to do the same then the compressor would be the issue. Read More...
Keith R. January 05, 2018 for Model Number RS2577SL/XAA Neither side of the unit is cooling. The compressor does not click or hum. Condenser fan is running, when I lower temperature fan kicks into high speed but still no click or hum noticed even with my hand on the compressor. Should I still try replacing the start relay seeing how it is the most accessible and cost-effective and I've heard the most common failure? or is there something else that you would recommend?
1 Answer Hello Keith, You will first need to test for voltage to the overload on the compressor. If there is no voltage present, you will need to replace the control board DA41-00104M. If 120Vac is present, then the start relay DA35-00099G and overload DA34-10003S should be replaced. Read More...
Yungr November 24, 2017 for Model Number Samsung 2s2577sl Based on your video, I think my relay is bad, but I do have a question. The video describes a clicking sound, but my fridge is making more of a buzzing sound, like a motor trying to start but not spinning. The fan is running fine, and the compressor has never been noisy. Does this still sound like a relay problem?
1 Answer Yungr, The relay would be the most likely cause for the compressor not to come on. If you replace the relay and it does not correct the issue thing this will most likely be a faulty compressor. Read More...
Rick July 01, 2017 Thanks for confirming this part will work on my unit. I ordered it and installed however after dropping to the desired temp, my wine fridge stopped cooling again. I am wondering if I also need to by the capacitor in addition to the relay I purchased? Can the capacitor also go bad and prevent the fridge from cooling?
1 Answer Rick, It is not likely that the capacitor would be the cause of the unit not cooling. The capacitor is just there for the compressor run to help save a couple cents electricity. You will want to check the sensors on the unit. Read More...
Rick June 27, 2017 Is this the same relay that is in the Samsung wine fridge? The relay I have looks exactly the same as this one however I see no comments about this being used for a wine fridge. My relay says J531Q32E on it. Not getting any results on searching for it. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Rick. According to the pictures of the start relay, part number DA35-00099G has the matching identification number of "J531Q32E" on it, so it should work. Hope this helps! Read More...
Perry Mendivil June 10, 2016 for Model Number RS2545SH With the refrigeration plug in, the compressor appears to be working OK, no noises. The freezer and the refrigeration do not cool. I have removed the cover to the freezer evaporator to see if was iced over. The evaporator coils are free of ice and the evaporator fan appeared to be working. However, when I tested the temp sensors they appeared to be open. Can this be why the freezer and refrigerator are not cooling? Please advise. Thank You!
1 Answer Perry, If the compressor is running but there is no frost pattern at all then the issue will be a sealed system issue. Read More...
