Jim R. November 04, 2013 I purchased a Membrane Switch & have received it in the mail. Do I just get a corner of the old membrane up and pull it off and then stick the new one in it's place, or what?
1 Answer Hello Jim, There is a ribbon cable that attaches the membrane switch to the control board that will require dis-assembly to access. You will need to remove the control panel to access the place on the control to plug the new membrane switch into it. Scott September 17, 2012 for Model Number SMH9187B Have a -SE- error, or "Short Error" in the membrane switch, I want to order a replacement part mfg no. DE34-00330C, your no. AP4580056. But I am concerned how to change the switch, the old one seems glued on very well... Does this part come with instructions? Are there any tips for replacing this part? I know how to disassemble to get the panel off and and get it down to the switch and plastic panel part, but am am concerned about the pressure sensitive glue that holds the old switch on. Thanks,
1 Answer Hello Scott. Just unplug the ribbon cable from the control board and un-peel the old membrane and stick the new membrane DE34-00330C onto the control panel. These are not hard to replace. Read More...
