For Samsung Microwave Temperature Control Thermostat (Part Number: OEM12659271)

1 Answer

Marcin, the thermostat on the left just behind the touchpad is part number DE47-20034A and the right is part number DE47-00050C. The left thermostat is a normally open thermostat used in conjunction with the vent fan and closes at 158°F to turn the vent on, preventing the control from overheating from any heat source.

Steve, the two thermostats mentioned are reading appropriately as one is for the vent fan (the open one) while the other is for cavity over temp (the closed one). You may want to inspect the magnetron thermostat DE47-20007B.

Hello Rajnikant, that thermostat is a normally open type, it senses the temperature rise on the underside of the microwave if the vent is not turned on and the cooktop is being used , it will cause the vent motor to automatically start and stops the vent motor once the temperature drops. It does not affect microwave operation. For a no heat condition where the microwave seems to run and count down correctly, start by testing the door interlock switches and if they test ok then check for 120v to the primary side of the high voltage transformer ( black - black /white wires) for 120v in operation using a multimeter. If there is no 120v then replace the control board, if there is 120v then there is a problem with the high voltage section components.

Tom Doyle for Model Number Samsung ME18H704SFS microwave

Wife used the microwave to heat some food. Shortly after the whole house power cycled off/on. I went to use it shortly after and found it completely dead. Checked breaker & tested wall outlet and it is "live". Have checked all three thermal fuses, the one on top (good), and the two behind the control panel -- right side one (good) and left side one (good -- normally open). Checked the two 20 amp fuses behind the control panel on the circuit board. They both are good. Any further things to check? Yeah, I know, I should have a surge protector between the wall outlet and the microwave which I have now done. Thanks for your help!

1 Answer

Tom, All the components you have tested that all check good is an indicator that a main control board failure has occurred. It is good you have a surge protector in line though for further problems. You will need to order the main control board DE92-03624B
