Kelvin for Model Number Samsung RF266AFRS/XAC

Hi Pro, I am having problem on my Samsung RF266AFRS/XAC. The back panel building up the ice. So, I would like to change all three sensors by following: DA47-00243K DA32-00006Q DA32-00006S Do you think all three sensors need to be replace? Also, when I look at your video on DA32-00006S sensor replacement, it looks like the DA32-00006S can be work on Refrigerator / Freezer. Do you think I can use DA32-00006S for both. I don't need to order the DA32-00006Q for refrigerator.

1 Answer

Kelvin, You will want to use the sensor that shows for each component. The reason is that there may be a difference in the connectors. With the issue being that the coil is icing up it should only be necessary to replace the sensor on the coil.

Mal, the ice maker section would need to be inspected for any air gaps in the seam running along the refrigerator wall and ceiling. This can be done by removing the ice bin, ice maker, and auger motor then using a flashlight to shine light into the seam from the refrigerator side of the compartment. If light shines through any part of the ice maker compartment, the seam would need to be sealed using the RTV sealant DA81-05595A and installing the y-clip assembly DA82-02367A onto the evaporator coil in the ice maker compartment. The built-up ice would need to be thoroughly cleared and any water dried before this repair process.

Susie for Model Number Samsung RFG293HARS/XAA

The temperature displays -8 for my 12 year old French door refrigerator freezer but a thermometer confirms it ranges from 15-25°. Coils are clean, compressor and compressor fan are running. Fan in freezer drawer is working. I was advised to check the frost pattern on the coils in the freezer drawer but since I am an 80 yr old woman I am not sure I can manage to take do what it takes to access that. I think the replacement parts would be installed in the fresh food cabinet and I think I could manage to do that, so if you could tell me a list of possible parts I may need to fix it, I would just order them all and hope it works.

1 Answer

Susie, the temperature difference between the actual temperature and what is being displayed could be caused by either the freezer thermistor or the main control. However, the REV number located on the model serial tag just to the left of the barcode would be necessary to ensure the correct part numbers are identified.

William for Model Number RF266AEPN/XAA-0000

My refrigerator has been making a chirping noise for the past year and when it makes the noise, the temperature begins to change going down then up. It might go from 38 degrees F to 34, then up to 44 degrees F. It finally settles back down for some period before before it starts again. I replaced the temperature sensor today but it still is making the noise at random times. Another issue that surfaced is the temperature setting can't be adjusted and the buttons on the display appear to not work at all. Can't turn on e-Saver or power cool or adjust temp on refrigerator or freezer.

Greg for Model Number RFG237AARS/XAA-0000

This follows an earlier question. Refrigerator section works. Freezer (and ice maker) do not. When reset, the freezer starts to cool and the display will show the temperature ok. But when it gets to about 28 deg, it goes no lower and then the displayed temp is wrong. I have confirmed the temp sensors are ok. I replaced the main control board, no change. I just checked the defrost thermostat and it shows continuity even at 70-80 deg, so it seems to have failed closed. Note that there is no icing in the freezer. I will order and replace the thermostat. Any other thoughts?

1 Answer

Greg, as the defrost thermostat is a hi-limit thermostat, it should show continuity at room temperature. The freezer evaporator would need to be inspected for a full frost pattern. If there is not a light coat of frost on the entire evaporator, this unit has a sealed system failure and would require an EPA-certified technician to diagnose and repair the failure.

Brother for Model Number RF26HFENDSR/AA 02

I have a Samsung RF26HFENDSR/AA 02 the freezer is not getting cold. I tested the defrost element it has continuity. I replaced the fan, temp sensor and the thermostat. I suspect it is the thermostat because the old one tests continuity at room temp but the new one DA47-00243K also test closed at room temp. I think it should be open at room temp. I put the parts in and still not cold. I also know the compressor is working because the evaporator frosted while waiting for the part. Did I get the wrong part, is there something in the computer going wrong?

1 Answer

Brother, the thermostat bi-metal is a hi-limit bi-metal that should have continuity at room temperature. Based on the information provided, the main control DA92-00233D would be the cause of failure if the frost is forming on the entire evaporator.

Roberto, Check your temperature sensor in the evaporator cover as well as the evaporator fan.

Rob, you would need to test the thermostat for continuity. If it has continuity it is good.

Angel, You will want to check to see if the fan motor is working or not. This would be the most likely cause but if the fan motor is working then check for a defrost issue in which the coils are impacted with ice.
