The Torx Screw is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool brand appliances. The Torx Screw is responsible for providing secure and stable connections between different components of washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and more. These screws are characterized by their star-shaped drive design, which offers better torque transfer and reduces the risk of stripping or cam-out. Sold individually. 7-18 x 3/4"

Causes of a bad Torx screw can include stripping of the screw head, rust or corrosion from prolonged exposure to moisture, or damage from over-tightening or cross-threading. A compromised screw can lead to loose or insecure parts, which can affect the performance and safety of the appliance.

Symptoms of a bad Torx screw include:

  • The screw head being stripped and difficult to turn
  • Rust or corrosion visible on the screw
  • The screw not holding components securely
  • Loose or rattling parts within the appliance

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

For Whirlpool Torx Screw (Part Number: OEM18024384)

Steve for Model Number JGD8430ADS

The igniter on the right front main burner got pushed down inside the whole. Now we cant turn on the burner, it just keeps sparking all burners. I tried to use torx driver on the screw on the right and the head snapped off. The head on the left side screw is fried and rotted. I am thinking I will need to use a drill but to knock that head off as well. It is my understanding that the manifold fill pop off and there must be a screw that held in the igniter in place thats should be sitting down in the body of the cooktop. Correct? What is the best way for me to get the shafts of those two screw out? WD40 and a pliers? Thanks Steve

Steve, Yes the screws will have to be drilled out or use a screw removal too. You want to make sure that you do not go to deep into the hole and make sure that you use a smaller drill bit or you would have to replace the orifice holder.

Hello Gloria! Please specify exactly which screws you are needing. Are you needing the screws that screw in the hinge cover or the screws that screw the hinges in place? Thanks!
