Joe P March 29, 2016 I have a GE microwave oven that has a stainless steel cavity but the inside of the door is painted black. the paint is coming off but there is no rust. can I use something like stove paint on this part? It dosn't look like cavity paint.

The door color is a copper brown, which I would like to paint, in order to not have to replace the ovens with new ovens. I'm not sure what type of paint would be best to use. 1 Answer Hello Beth. Use an ice pick and go through the door vent and pull over the lock latch. Then you can open the door on the unit. Once you get it open, you will need to see if the lock assembly is bad or the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
