Carey February 06, 2014 for Model Number RBD245PDQ14 I've about had it with this oven... started out with clock display dim...then bright... then dim again...then oven would shut off after preheat... then no display at all and oven wouldn't come on. I replaced the control board... clock came on... then after a minute... beeps and code F5 E1 comes on... I replaced the door latch assembly... still get same code... I replaced the sister board... same thing... I replace the control board again... same thing... I do get a code of F2 E1 after the F5 E1 has been on a few minutes. What now? The touch pad? I'm out $600 and still no working oven.... I'm in too deep to quit!
1 Answer Hello Carey. For the F2 E1, that is a keypad error. As for the other code, you need to check the wiring harness and see if it is bad on the unit. Do this test also, 1. Check the latch assembly: latch arm pivot joint, arm/motor connection, plunger and hook springs. 2. Check the Latch Motor: - Check for firm electrical connections. - Disconnect the two wires from the motor and measure the resistance of the motor. The resistance should be approx. 2450?.If the motor is open (8?) or shorted (0?), it should be replaced. 3. Check the Latch Switch. Disconnect it and use a continuity tester: - Door latched = switch closed, continuity should read 0?. - Door unlatched = switch open, continuity should read 8?. 4. Check Door Open/Closed Switch. Disconnect it and use a continuity tester: - Door open = switch open, continuity should read 8?. - Door closed = switch closed, continuity should read 0?. 5. Check Sister Board. - Check connections, latch motor – sister board. - Replace sister board. 6. Check power and element connections. 7. Replace control. Read More...
Jim September 11, 2012 for Model Number GBD307PDQ09 Recently the the oven in my built-in electric convention oven will not shut off. The heat stays on no matter which button I push. I have to shut off the breaker to get it to shut off and then it starts up again. I left the braker off for about 20 hours and just turned it on again. Everything was fine until I truned on the ovens. Once on the fan seems to keep running and the elements in both oven seem to still be heating at minimal level even if I use the control panel and shut them off (the panel still beeps). Then I shut the breker off for 10 seconds or so and turn it back on. The fan then starts again and the elements begin to heat up. Should I replace the control panel assembly??
1 Answer Hello Jim, As long as there are no wires pinched or otherwise shorted to ground, the relay board WPW10438751 has to be the issue. Read More...
Danny April 24, 2012 for Model Number RBD245PDQ15 This is a follow up question to one I had asked before. The lights on the control panel keep getting dimmer and dimmer, getting very hard to see. What do I need to do to fix this problem on my Whirlpool oven. Oven works fine except for the dim lights on the control panel. Thanks
Danny April 24, 2012 for Model Number RBD245PDQ15 Does anyone have a step by step on how to replace the Control Panel Assy. W/membrane Switch (white Model). I think this is what I need to do to fix my problem of all the control lights getting dimmer. Getting hard to see what temp the oven is on. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Danny. Disconnect the power and open the doors to the unit. Remove both of the side trim pieces off the oven. Once removed, you will see two screws at the bottom corners of the control panel. Remove both screws and lift the control panel upward and off the unit. You can now access and replace the control panel WP8300428 on the unit. Some are easier to replace if you pull out the oven about 3". Read More...
