Gregory Y. September 11, 2011 for Model Number Maytag Ice maker As you noted in a response, the yoke internal thread strips out. Can I just buy the threaded yoke assuming I can get the old one off by applying an axial load and unscrewing it.

Arnold S. June 23, 2011 for Model Number jcd2389gtb On the wiring harness for the motor there is a pink and a white lead. I don't know which goes to copper colored standoff and which goes to the silver colored one. Could you please tell me?
1 Answer Hello Arnold. The copper is a ground terminal. There should be two silver terminals for the run wires. Hope this helps. Read More...
Sadolf April 21, 2011 for Model Number jcd2389ges The motor broke off the plastic enclosure. I can not get the "Assy, auger motor/ yoke" off the motor, to install it on the new plastic "enclosure". That yoke can't fit thru that small round hole. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Sadolf. You can remove the yoke by unscrewing it from the motor. These can be very tight and hard to remove. You will want to try to remove it with channel lock pliers. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mike April 05, 2011 for Model Number MSD2654 I replaced the ice cube bin shelf because the motor has broken off in the back. (plastic gave way) Now this shaded pole motor assembly only runs CCW. (facing the gearcase output shaft) This drives the auger pushing the cubes backwards. ????? Thanks! Flipping the wires does no good, in or out of the fridge. Is it DC?
1 Answer Hello Mike. I have not had a similar problem, most auger motors either run or don't run. Most of the problems are due to a stripped auger drive yoke, not the motor itself. No, the auger motor is not a DC motor, it's an AC, and only has 2 wires to it. I can only recommend you re-order the part12001773 (you have the correct part number). Looking at the drive shaft, it should rotate in a clockwise direction. Hope this is helpful and Thanks, Read More...
