Roland S. August 13, 2014 for Model Number MMV5207BAS Can I access the magnetron and transformer without taking down the microwave unit from the cabinet mount?
1 Answer Hello Roland! No, I'm sorry. The microwave will have to be removed from the cabinet. Thanks. Read More...
Gerald July 04, 2013 for Model Number mmv5207baw Having trouble with my microwave, everything works but will not heat. It has two fuses the one that makes it heat has blown, I replaced it an when I turned the microwave on it blew it too. Could it be the magnetron?
1 Answer Gerald, You will need to test the magnetron. The resistance value should be .5 ohms resistance. Also you will want to check the diode to make sure that it is good. Read More...
Joe March 01, 2013 Have a maytag that when first start up goes through first heat cycle. Then all you hear is fan blowing and never goes to heat cycle again. From what I have read it sounds like the magnatron. Is this the only part I should replace while it is disassembled or should chance diode in conjunction as preventative.
1 Answer Joe, The diode, if bad would not work at all. You would want to replace magnetron but it is not necessary to replace diode. Read More...
Marvin October 01, 2012 for Model Number MMV4205BAB Everything works but will not heat, no funny noises. How hard is it to install magnetron if that is what it is?
1 Answer Marvin, Like any "OTR" microwave, the hardest part is getting to the components, You basically have to un install the product and work on it, on a table or counter top. We'll be sending you some information that should be helpful. Thanks Read More...
Tom February 13, 2012 for Model Number MMV4205BAS Can I ohm test magnatron, capacitor,or diode with ohm meter? Put in used magnatron 2 months ago, quit heating again. Also there wasn;t any spark across capacitor neither time.
1 Answer Hello Tom. The magnetron WPW10126786 should read less than 1 ohm, the diode should only read in one direction, and the capacitor should spike and slowly drop down to 0. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ross December 08, 2011 for Model Number MMV4205BA Related to MMV4205BA not heating: Thanks for your answer about the magnetron and the diode. I took the microwave apart last night. The symptoms remain the same whether the starting capacitor is plugged in or not. Still think it is the magnetron? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Ross. Yes, it could still be the magnetron WPW10126786. Unplug the magnetron and see if the problem continues. If not, replace the magnetron and diode. Hope this helps. Read More...
Ross December 07, 2011 for Model Number Maytag MMV4250BA Microwave quit working. Acts like it's working but will not heat. Later when I turned it on it made a fairly loud buzz for a few seconds and then blew the circuit breaker, didn't even set off the GFI.
1 Answer Hello Ross. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the magnetron WPW10126786 and the diode WPDE91-70063D is bad and will need to be replaced on the microwave. Hope this helps. Read More...
Louie B. November 08, 2011 for Model Number JMV8166BAS Hello again guys, I have a Jenn Air microwave model # JMV8166BAS. I need to replace the magnetron, and per your suggesstion to also replace the diode. Diode # AP4232062 Can you please tell me where it is located within the unit and what I must do? Thank you Sincerely, Louie B.
1 Answer Hello Louie. Once you access the magnetron WPW10126786, you will see the diode WPDE91-70063D. It attaches to the capacitor and goes down to the frame of the unit. They are not hard to replace. You need to remove the outer cover of the microwave to access the magnetron and the diode. Hope this helps. Read More...
Louie November 04, 2011 for Model Number Jenn Air model # JMV8166BAS Hello again, I forgot to ask you where is the magnetron located within the microwave? I have taken the top front panel vent off. I don't seem to be able to see it anywhere. I also have the digital panel or control panel on the right side off, don't see it, see alot of wires. Please help.
1 Answer Hi Louie. The magnetron is bolted to the top RT./center of the inner area. Accessed only by removing the whole cover. Magnetron Part # WPW10126786. Thank You. Read More...
Louie November 04, 2011 for Model Number Jenn Air model # JMV8166BAS Hello, How do you discharge the Capactior?
1 Answer Hi Louie. Carefully use a pair of insulated (handles) needle nose pliers. Steady one end of the pliers on one post. Then "short " out the other lead by touching on / off , on / off several times to completely discharge the capacitor. This part # is 8206562 . Thank You. Read More...
