The Spray Arm Bearing is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dishwashers. This supports the rotation of the spray arm, ensuring it can freely move and distribute water evenly throughout the dishwasher during a wash cycle.

Causes of damage to the spray arm bearing can include mineral buildup from hard water, wear and tear from regular use, or damage from debris that has become lodged in the spray arm.

Symptoms of a bad Spray Arm Bearing include:

  • The spray arm not rotating properly or getting stuck, which can lead to dishes not being cleaned effectively.
  • Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher, such as grinding or squeaking, indicating that the spray arm is struggling to rotate.
  • Poor water distribution inside the dishwasher, resulting in spots or food residue on dishes after a cycle.

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Spray Arm Bearing (Part Number: OEM18036696)

Eric, Based on the information provided your wash arm needs to turn freely and the bearing helps it to do so. Also for washability issues you must have a good flow and spray action, you must have a good detergent and the water in the tub of the machine must be above 120°F. Lack of any of these will result in poor washability.

Jaso, unfortunately, as the manufacturer has discontinued the middle spray arm bracket WPW10082832 and is no longer available, we would not be able to recommend an alternative. In regards to the spray arm binding, there may be debris around the spray arm seal WP8268433 that is causing the resistance, and disassembling the spray arm from the supply tube WPW10323424 would be necessary to identify the cause of the bind.

Carl for Model Number DU1145XTPBA QUIET PARTNER II

Hello, I have a Whirlpool DU1145XTPBA QUIET PARTNER II that makes an awful lot of noise during what appears to be the wash cycle. When it fist starts sounds ok then gets loud and runs that way until it is finished. I tried stopping the washing cycle to see if problems during draining etc and the washer drains withouts any excessive noise. Would faulty washers or seals cause this problem? Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

Nat, You will want to check the pump assembly to make sure that there is nothing clogged in the pump and check to make sure that the impeller is not damaged. Also check to make sure that the water is filling just below the heating element when it fills.

John, The spray arm is held in by a lower spray arm hub WP8268342 and you will want to make sure that it is tight on the hub. Also make sure that the internal cap rear feed is locked into place properly. There will be some wobble to the spray arm.

Paul for Model Number Kitchenaid

The top rack of my dishwasher is height adjustable. The middle sprayer arm fits into one of two holes in the feed tube. The holes in the feed tube have rubber flaps that block the water from leaking out of the hole that is not engaged by the sprayer arm. The top rubber flaps has torn away and the top rack did not clean properly. I reversed the two gaskets so that the top hole is blocked and positioned the rack so that the bottom hole accepts the sprayer arm and now the top rack cleans properly. Do you sell these rubber parts separately, or do I have to buy the entire feed tube assembly?

Janise, Sorry but no we don't ship parts out of the U.S.A. If you have a friend or relative here in the states, we could ship to them and they could ship to you. Thanks
