Causes of a bad sealed gas burner head can include clogging from food debris or grease, corrosion due to exposure to moisture, or physical damage from impact or excessive heat. Over time, these factors can affect the burner's performance, leading to uneven cooking or failure to ignite.

Symptoms of a bad sealed gas burner head include:

  • Uneven flame or no flame at all
  • Difficulty in igniting the burner
  • Yellow or irregularly shaped flames
  • Burner not heating evenly or adequately

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Anne, To remove the burner head you would use a rubber jar opener and twist the burner head off. Make sure that you disconnect the power as there will be a wire attached. Then remove wire and connect to new head and twist on.

Julie, If there's no spark at all, to the burner igniter, You'll need to remove the burners, the burner mounting screws and raise the top to access the igniter switches WP7403P279-60 and wiring to see if theres any visible damage or loose connections. If all checks OK, then you'll need to check or replce the spark module 12001596 and check the wires from the module to the igniters on each burner.

Dave, We believe you mean the burner valve stem does not move up and down , not the igniters on the burner ? You'll need to remove the cooktop, and check the gas valve and igniter switch for possible damage to both components. Thanks Again.

Dave, Very good guess, switch the burners, if the issue moves with the burner, the burner is bad, if the issue remains, then you'll need to check the ignition switch 7403P370-60(example only) and/or the spark module 74003265 . Good Luck and Thanks

Marc, It's most likely a "dirty" or clogged burner> you may want to try, removing the burner assembly( unplug the power cord, or turn power off the the range. Remove the grates, grasp and turn the burner 90 dgrs. to the left(counter clockwise) and lift the burner out of the opening. Disconnect the ignitor and ground wire (label them). Using a tooth brush or similar semi soft bristle brush clean all the slots and openings on the burner, you may also need a large needle or fine point awl, to clear any hard debris or deposits. Reinstall the burners and check for the flame size and condition, I think you'll be alright after that. Thanks and Good Luck
