This oven burner supplies the bake flame in a gas oven, restoring consistent heat for baking and roasting. Replace a damaged or corroded burner to help recover even cooking and reliable ignition. What it does:

  • Produces the primary bake flame for the oven cavity so food cooks evenly.
  • Replaces a warped, cracked, or heavily corroded burner that can cause weak or uneven heating.
  • Can resolve symptoms such as the oven not reaching temperature, uneven baking, or a burner that won't light reliably.
  • Works with the oven's ignition and gas flow system; proper flame appearance is important for safe operation.
What's included: One oven burner. Install notes:
  • Turn off gas supply and electrical power to the appliance before beginning any service.
  • Remove oven racks and access panels to reach the burner; retain all fasteners.
  • Inspect and clean the burner ports and ignition area during replacement; avoid bending or damaging the burner ports.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Oven Burner (Bake) (Part Number: OEM11638329)

1 Answer

Jim, It's probably neither of the parts you referred to. It's more likely a faulty DSI spark module WPW10331686 or gas valve WPW10331686, You should check the solenoid resistances on the gas valve (215 ohms resistance from the center terminal to each outside terminal) and the VDC (8 to18 VDC) on the red and orange wires on the valve, with the oven in a bake mode. Heres some meter usage information if you need it,[http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html]. The burner tubes (items no.#9 and #10)are configured differently so they are not interchangeable. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Robert. If the fuse was good, and neither the bak or broil work, and the clock is good, you will need to replace the spark module WPW10331686. Hope this helps.

Paul, You are correct. Due to an engineering change, the Bake burner for your range does come as composit part, Burner and igniter. The Broil burner and igniter are single part units WP8054129 and WPW10111219 (examples only). Thanks and Good Luck
