Steve K. February 24, 2013 for Model Number KitchenAid KGRI801 Our oven will ignite for a few seconds and then shut off. Broiler is working fine as are top burners. I read a post on the internet that suggests that the bake burner needs to be replaced. Do you agree?
1 Answer Hello Steve, You will want to check the oven safety valve. Do a resistance check between bake and common which is center terminal. There should be 216 ohms of resistance. If the resistance is not 216 then the safety valve WP9763716 is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim February 16, 2012 for Model Number KGRA806PSS00 Gas heating in the oven is having a problem, but broiler (upper part) works fine. When oven is turned on, only the heating coil/rod turns on. No heat comes from underneath (gas heating). No sparking sound either. Is the oven burner (AP3879440) need to be replaced or the oven Igniter Assembly (AP3135265)? Also, items #9 and #10 in the diagram seem to be the same thing, are they? thanks.
1 Answer Jim, It's probably neither of the parts you referred to. It's more likely a faulty DSI spark module WPW10331686 or gas valve WPW10331686, You should check the solenoid resistances on the gas valve (215 ohms resistance from the center terminal to each outside terminal) and the VDC (8 to18 VDC) on the red and orange wires on the valve, with the oven in a bake mode. Heres some meter usage information if you need it,[http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html]. The burner tubes (items no.#9 and #10)are configured differently so they are not interchangeable. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Robert S. December 01, 2011 for Model Number KGSA906PSS00 Did continuity test on thermostat AP3799085 - working fine. Do you have a suggestion to try next. By the way I gave you the wrong model number - my range is KGSA906PSS00 - it is the slide - in version.
1 Answer Hello Robert. If the fuse was good, and neither the bak or broil work, and the clock is good, you will need to replace the spark module WPW10331686. Hope this helps. Read More...
Paul November 20, 2011 for Model Number ap3879440 it appears as if this burner includes the ceramic ignitor for the oven 9not broiler) .. can you confirm this.
1 Answer Paul, You are correct. Due to an engineering change, the Bake burner for your range does come as composit part, Burner and igniter. The Broil burner and igniter are single part units WP8054129 and WPW10111219 (examples only). Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
