The Boot Seal Retaining Ring is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This ring ensures the boot seal is securely fastened to the washing machine's door assembly. The boot seal retaining ring plays a key role in preventing water leaks by maintaining a tight seal between the door and the drum of the machine.

Over time, the retaining ring can lose its tension, become bent, or suffer from corrosion, leading to a compromised seal.

Symptoms of a bad Boot Seal Retaining Ring include:

  • Visible water leakage around the washer door
  • Difficulty closing the washer door securely
  • A visible gap or misalignment between the boot seal and the door frame
  • The boot seal coming loose or falling off

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Steve, the {AP6011761]/WP8182211 Bellow Seal Clamp is on "factory, national back order" with no "expect date" listed, we don't know when the part will be available. You may want to try contacting local parts dealers, one of them might still have it in stock. Enter your part number in a search engine, a smaller company might have it, or try eBay,Amazon or similar sites. Search by using the manufacturer's part number. You could also try a used appliance store, sometimes they have the same or similar model with a part usable on your machine.

Hello Katherine, The front tub would be part number WH45X10101 and the rear tub would be WH45X10071. Depending on where the crack is will determine which side you will need. You will also want to check the spinner assembly when you pull the tub apart to make sure that the weld on the shaft is not broken.

Hello Richard. Check and see if the noise is coming from the lock assembly. If so, you will need to replace the latch WP8183270 on the washer. If the lock does not work, then the washer will not start. Hope this helps.

Hello. These are a little tricky to reattach. You want the spring to be at the bottom of the boot, when trying to attach. Make sure the boot is seated in the grove, and start the clamp at the top of the boot, and work down toward the bottom, spreading the spring as you go. You can use a pick tool to help with spreading the spring. Hope this helps.
