Drew February 02, 2017 for Model Number Whirlpool Microwave and Wall Oven Combo GMC305PRS01 Control panel display is blank. Microwave will work via touchpad but oven will not. Prior to display going blank it showed an error message of F2 E6. Unit is hardwired.
1 Answer Hello Drew, This is the fault code for the "CANCEL key drive line open". As per the tech sheet: 1. Disconnect power or unplug oven. 2. Check keypad connector for firm connection. 3. Dan March 10, 2013 for Model Number mew5530DDB I bought my house brand new in Nov 2006 with this oven. In oct 2010 the key pad stopped working and only the broil button worked. I replaced the control panel and all was good until Feb 2013. Now only the bake button works and the temp automatically goes to 350'F. The key pad doesn't work again. Is this a commen problem with this unit? Putting $400 dollars in 6 years for 2 contol units seems like a problem. Please advise. Thank you for your time R/S Dan
1 Answer Hello Dan. I would not say it is common for these things to go out, but does happen. Sometimes this is due to using cleaners on them, not made for control panels. Also, you can try removing the ribbon cable from the control board and cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and a pencil eraser and see if it starts to work again. Read More...
Valerie I. February 19, 2012 for Model Number MEW5530DDW We are having a problem with the above oven the bake 6 and 9 buttons do not work. We have replaced it with two control panels and both have the same problem. The ribbon cable has been inspected with no visable breaks. With a multimeter we were able to get the bake button to check out. From that we initially eliminated the touch screen. We located a previous post by raderrustler on 01/04/09 with a simular problem the links do not work.
