Jeff March 24, 2021 for Model Number LAT9416AAE Need to replace the agitator shaft hold down collar on my Maytag washer. The spanner wrench 22038313 is no longer available. Does the TB123A wrench for Whirlpool fit this model?
1 Answer Jeff, This part has been discontinued by the manufacturer & is no longer available. No alternate or substitute part has been recommended by the manufacturer. The two you referenced are different sizes and don't interchange. Read More...
John January 19, 2019 for Model Number LAT2500AAE Which direction should the open side of the agitator clip face when you reassemble? Or does it not matter?
1 Answer John, It should not matter which direction the agitator clip faces when you reassemble. Read More...
Jim January 21, 2018 for Model Number mat12pddaq Hi there, I had a frozen transmission (w10841093) on my Maytag washer. I took it apart and freed up the stuck agitator drive shaft. I might have been a little rough and broke part of the collar on the bushing that the agitator collar snaps onto. Will the agitator still work ok or should I replace it? If so how does it come out? Thanks
1 Answer Jim, If the agitator collar is broken then you would want to replace it. If it is part of the agitator shaft that broken then this will need to be replaced. Read More...
John W July 12, 2017 for Model Number LAT2600AAE Agitator quit working because the agitator & shaft slid upward just enough to slip out of the trans yoke. Opened the trans and the lube is still there without any water. Can't see what retains the agitator shaft vertically into the trans/yoke. Is the retention inside the trans housing (can't see how/where) or external above the trans? Didn't find any parts or loose/broken pieces in the trans.
1 Answer John, There is a agitator collar that sounds like it may have come out which would be part number WP22002340. You will want to make sure that this is in place. Read More...
Shag K December 13, 2015 for Model Number LAT9416AAE I left out a part, which I think may be the plastic agitator collar (PN: AP4027340), when I replaced the tub bearing kit and mounting stem seal. It was not mentioned in the video and it is not clear from the parts diagram where it goes. Does this part just slide onto the agitator shaft and then the agitator is mounted on the shaft on top of it? Thank you.
1 Answer Shag, Yes this agitator color does slide onto the agitator shaft and then the agitator is mounted on top of it. Read More...
Sarah November 13, 2012 for Model Number LAT9606AAM The agitator shaft is not locked in and comes out with the agitator. I'm assuming I need the agitator collar but for the life of me, I cannot see where this collar goes. Do I have to take the tub off to get to the bearing housing? where is this bearing housing? I'm looking at the exploded parts list, and I just can't tell where the ring goes, and from looking in my machine, I can't see anywhere for it to clip.
1 Answer Hello Sarah, The Agitator collar would be located at the top of the transmission shaft. With the agitator shaft removed from the agitator you would push the shaft back down into transmission. Once it is fully seated you would push the collar onto the shaft at the top part of where the agitator shaft and transmission meet. Once you push into place the collar should clip in and stay. Check the first 2 digits of serial number because the collar is model specific. If the first 2 digits are 18 or higher you will have a collar. If not then the unit has a spring loaded clip that you just push the shaft back into the transmission to lock into place. The top part of transmission is the bearing housing. Read More...
1 Answer Ed, Basically, it " snaps " ON and OFF the shaft and housing, just be careful and not break it. A small flat blade screwdriver comes in handy to help push or release the clip frpm the retainer grooves in the bearing housing and agitator shaft. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
