The Condenser Motor Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It includes a motor, fan blade, wire harness, and hardware, designed to replace the existing condenser motor in your refrigerator. This kit is crucial for maintaining the appliance's cooling efficiency by circulating air through the condenser coils and over the compressor, helping to dissipate heat and prevent overheating.

Over time, the condenser motor can fail due to mechanical wear, electrical issues, or blockages that restrict airflow and cause the motor to overheat.

Symptoms of a bad Condenser Motor Kit include:

  • The refrigerator does not cool adequately
  • Unusual noises from the back of the refrigerator where the motor is located
  • The refrigerator compressor runs hotter than normal
  • Increased electrical consumption as the refrigerator tries to maintain cooling efficiency

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Louie, With the condenser fan motor running all the time then the issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control board on the unit. The control board is what is sending power to the condenser fan motor and is located at the back of the unit next to the compressor. The part number needed would be W10219463.

Hello Landon, This sounds like you may have a wiring issue. You will need a test meter to determine if voltage is getting to the fan motor or if the component has neutral to it.

Hello Landon, The unit could be in defrost. This will be obvious in half an hour. This is how long it takes to cycle back out of defrost. If it hasn't, you need to verify voltage to and back out of the electronic control WP2307037.

Foster for Model Number kscs25inss00

Hello Parts Pro - I have an annoying hum coming from my refrigerator P/N kscs25inss00. I can't figure out where exactly it's coming from. I would think its either the evaporator fan, condenser fan, or compressor. It cycles on and off. I can hear the fans running but I'm just not sure of the origin of the hum. When the hum stops, I can still hear the fans (well at least 1 of the 2, but it's faint). Do you have any tips to help diagnose the problem. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Foster

1 Answer

Foster, Your refrigerator is equipped with variable speed evaporator fan W11671461 and a compressor W10276644 and a single speed condenser fan motor W10124096 The condenser fan motor runs when the compressor runs, in order to cool the fluid and compressor. If the compressor is "stuck" in a low or medium speed, it may "hum" but you should also have an issue with the cooling of the freezer and refrigerator compartments. The evaporator fan is the more common component for a noise, so you may want to open the freezer door, remove the articles and shelves and listen for the noise at a level of 1/3 down the back wall of the freezer compartment. The tech data / information sheet with the test program is usually attached to the front frame, behind the kick plate lower grille panel. you can program the test mode and test each individual component for operation and noise, if it hasn't been removed or lost.
