The Condenser Motor Kit is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It includes a motor, fan blade, wire harness, and hardware, designed to replace the existing condenser motor in your refrigerator. This kit is crucial for maintaining the appliance's cooling efficiency by circulating air through the condenser coils and over the compressor, helping to dissipate heat and prevent overheating.

Over time, the condenser motor can fail due to mechanical wear, electrical issues, or blockages that restrict airflow and cause the motor to overheat.

Symptoms of a bad Condenser Motor Kit include:

  • The refrigerator does not cool adequately
  • Unusual noises from the back of the refrigerator where the motor is located
  • The refrigerator compressor runs hotter than normal
  • Increased electrical consumption as the refrigerator tries to maintain cooling efficiency

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Hello Carrie. If it is the fan inside the freezer, you will need to order part number WP2315549 for the fan motor. If it is the fan on the back of the unit by the compressor, you will need to order part number W10124096 for the condenser fan motor.

Vicki, The condenser fan serves two purposes, it circulates air through the condenser assembly, this cools the hot refrigerant that is circulating through the condenser coils " All refrigerators cool by removing heat from the cabinet rather than pumping in cool air. In a conventional refrigerator, liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator and vaporizes (boils) due to the low pressure, creating a very cold surface which removes heat from inside the cabinet. This causes the refrigerant to boil (evaporate) into a vapor state and be drawn into the compressor. The compressor pressurizes the vapor and pumps it into the condenser. The hot vapor in the condenser gives off the heat into the room. As the vapor cools, it condenses back into a liquid and returns to the evaporator to start the process over again." At the same time, it is also cooling the compressor. The hotter the refrigerant, the less efficient it is, and you will notice a loss of coolig in the freezer and refrigerator. You'll want to change that fan motor as soon as possible.

Hello Taylor, This motor W10124096 rotates clockwise. The noise is the bushings in the motor going into failure. This style motor cannot be lubricated, so it will require replacement.
