For Whirlpool Dishwasher Thermal Fuse Kit (Part Number: OEM9535773)

Jenni for Model Number Kenmore 665-16032401 dishwasher

I have had to set this dishwasher with each use, doing the normal wash, heat wash procedure and then the clean light comes on. I have to open it, push start and then the clean button to have the panel clear, so that I can choose a cycle. The cycle doesn't complete itself (gets things clean enough if I scrub them by hand) and then my dishes aren't dry either. When I open the door after partial cycle it is steamy but not hot. Is it the fuse or panel? What part should I replace? Thanks.

Hello Van. You will need to press heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal, within in 6 seconds with the dishwasher in stand by mode. The dishwasher will come on and run a short cycle, and will clear the code. Make sure you get the water hot at the sink, before starting the dishwasher to prevent this from happening. Hope this helps.

Charles for Model Number KitchenAid KUDS01DL dishwasher

I have no power to the dishwasher. I've check the power where it plugs in and the house breaker and no luck. From what I'm reading on the internet, it sounds like the thermal fuse has blown. I've taken off the front cover of the dishwasher and am looking at (at least what I think is) the control panel. I don't see anything that looks like your picture of the fuse. Do you have any pictures of where the fuse is located on the panel?

Jeff for Model Number 665.17032401

My fuse is definately bad. It has PN 8269213 printed on it. I see where AP3178588 is the replacement fuse. I read where it is saying to replace the wires that come with it also. Mine only has the plug at the fuse. The other ends of the wires are hard wired to the harness. Am I looking at the correct replacement part? Should I replace just the fuse or cut the wires? Should I go ahead and inspect the heater circut. How do I determine the water temperature setting? Thanks, Jeff

1 Answer

Hello Jeff. You will need to cut the wires and splice in the new wire harness supplied with the fues kit. If you do not, the new fuse will blow. The heater and everything else should be fine. Hope this helps.

Hello. You can test the heater and the fuse with a multi-meter. MA-DM1 They should read closed for continuity. Hope this helps.
