Doug W September 12, 2012 for Model Number KUDIO1/LBS2 If the fuse is blown is everything dead or will some of the unit work. My unit fills with water and pumps water out at the end of the cycle but does not wash. Could this be the fuse or is it something else?
1 Answer Hello Doug. It sounds like something else. If the fuse blows, everything will be dead. You need to test for power to the motor. If there is power there and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Tarheel August 17, 2012 for Model Number gu1200xtsko You mentioned that you think the control panel is bad. Would a bad heating element cause this problem? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello, The heating element can cause the control to fail if it shorts to ground, but chances are that there would be a burning smell to accompany the failure. Most of the time when a heating element fails, it just opens. Read More...
Tarheel August 06, 2012 for Model Number GU1200XTKSO The dishwasher won't start, the right side lights work but the left side do not come on. Is that fuse on the control board about an inch long, white, and with removable wire connectors? If so, I got continuity. I did not get continuity at the vent switch (to the left of the board). Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Tarheel. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WP8269460 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Scphelping July 29, 2012 Where is this part located in the device. I was told it was on the board, but it doesn't seem to be???? I can't get a cycle to start? Ideas???
1 Answer Hello scphelping. The fuse 8193762 is mounted to the control board. If nothing works and the unit is dead, most likely the fuse. If the lights work, but does not start, check the door switches. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Lucil July 28, 2012 for Model Number KUDI01ILBL0 I would appreciate any information on removing the lower front panel to access the wiring harness.
1 Answer Hello Lucil, There should be 4 screws holding the kick panel in position. Two at the top and two almost to the floor. I noticed you are looking at the fuse kit. The fuse kit is in the control panel, not in the bottom. The panel opens up by removing the screws around the inner panel. Be sure to remove the power supply before opening the unit. Also, if you install the fuse kit, be sure to follow the instructions because the terminals the factory used caused a connection issue that was shooting the fuses. Read More...
Mike July 22, 2012 for Model Number KUDI0-1DLBT3 I have an 8yr old KitchenAid dishwasher. Replaced the control panel, heat element and inlet valve 18 months ago. Dishwasher worked fine until yesterday. Water was standing up to the heat element along with no lights, no sound....nothing. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Mike. You need to check and see if the fuse 8193762 is bad in the dishwasher and causing the issue you are having. Read More...
James July 11, 2012 for Model Number Kudio1ils5 Is the thermal fuse hard to replace? Is ther a diagram that will show me how to install?
1 Answer Hello James. There is no diagram. 1. Remove the six (6) screws securing the control panel to the door frame. 2. The control panel will now drop down and be free of the door assembly. The wiring harness will remain connected to the console components. 3. Access the control board. 4. The fuse 8193762 is located on the control board of the unit. Read More...

John R. September 18, 2011 for Model Number KUDS01IJBS0 What do the yellow wires with black tracer have that keeps the fuse from blowing? I checked for resistance didn't see any. Tired of replacing fuses. Can I buy resettable fuse or make my own? 4 amps? Ya, I know- just do it, dont ask why?
1 Answer Hello John. The manufacture had some trouble with the connectors to the fuse, that is the reason for the new wiring harness. You will need to replace the wiring harness with the fuse kit 8193762 to repair the problem. Hope this helps. Read More...
