Gary January 13, 2014 for Model Number WP Dryer - Duet - WED8500SR0 The pictures of part 279570 door latch kit do not look like what is on my dryer. I need the door latch kit. My metal strike (the male part of the latch) with the oval shaped end has a srew that holds it to the cabnet. The picture of the part shows it with no metal tab to put a screw through. I does not look like it is the correct one but everything on the web site says it is. So do I order it or not? I do not want the hassle of returns etc. ASAP ... please I am off work today.

When you open the door, the dryer should stop running, if it doesn't stop it is usually due to a faulty door switch WP3406107 or possibly a shorted wire to the switch. You will need to remove power to the dryer, remove the lint filter and the two screws located under the door.
