Hello Mike, part# 279570 is a kit for numerous models and would work but I show your Maytag model uses door latch kit# 306436. Basically, either would work! We have a picture as well as a video on our website. Thanks!

Hi. This latch kit part # 279570 is a normal straight forward kit that can be applied to a very large group of dryer models. If you are careful enough to use putty knife on the side of the female receiver to release the inner holding tabs. Use a set of needle nose pliers to release the male tab of the latch and lightly twist it out of the door. Thank You.

Hello. You can actually use an icepick and dig the old catches out of the front panel. This takes some time and you will need to be careful not to scratch the unit. Once the pick is behind the catch, you press the sides and unsnap it from the front panel. Then install the new kit 279570. You will need to remove the panel if you can not replace the catch this way.
