Rw December 24, 2011 for Model Number ADMIRAL ADE7000AYW DRYER My dryer quit working. Prior to it's stop, the inside space between the front panel and the collector was full of lint, to where the lint trap would not seat properly. I took apart and cleaned out. Right after that dryer ran, but then suddenly stopped. No power at all, door light off. I found your forum, and found it it could be the door switch, one of the fuses or thermostats. I am beginning my testing, starting with the door switch, which is out of the dryer. I have a rubber band holding down the button. Connection between COM and NC shows 1 on the Ohm meter, but connection between COM and NO leads fluctuates between 21-25. Is this normal?
1 Answer RW, First check and make sure you have 220/240 VAC at the terminal block on the back of the dryer. Then check the door switch and wiring WP53-0148 and make sure the switch "clicks" when you press and release the plunger. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Dawn September 12, 2011 for Model Number AP405573 How do I know if it is the switch that has gone bad. The dryer quit running in the middle of a cycle. We have power to the outlet and power to the switch.
1 Answer Hello Dawn. The door switch LA-1005 should read closed with the door closed. If it is good, you will want test the fuse kit LA-1053. They should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

1 Answer 730, Hope this helps you out, based on the diagram for your dryer The white wire from the thermal fuseon the heater will attach to the "C" marked terminal on the door switch. The other white wire, which goes to the motor and heater, should be attached to the "N O" terminal for the door switch. Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Dennis B. July 25, 2011 for Model Number PYE2000AYW Is there much involved to replace this? Is there a diagram I can down load to follow, step by step?
1 Answer Hello Dennis. Disconnect the power to the unit. Release the clips under the top panel with a flat blade putty knife or butter knife and raise the top of the dryer. The door switch LA-1005 is attached to the inside of the front panel with a clip. The switch can be removed by spreading the arms of the clip and removeing the switch. Reinstall in reverse order. Guest March 11, 2011 for Model Number LDGA200AAW When I look at the switch on my dryer, it only has 2 wires going to it and 2 male connectors on the switch. Is this still the right switch?
1 Answer Hello. Yes, this is the correct switch. You will need to hook this switch up the way your old one is hooked up. Hope this helps. Read More...
