The Drain Hose is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. It is responsible for directing and carrying away water that is pumped out of the washer tub during drain cycles. The drain hose connects from the bottom of the washtub to the household plumbing or out the back of the machine. This washer drain hose includes the retaining clips to hold in place.

Causes of a bad drain hose can include mineral deposits from hard water building up inside the hose, cracking from flexing during use, rodent damage, or general degradation from years of service.

Symptoms of a faulty drain hose include:

  • Water not completely draining from the washer tub after cycles
  • Puddles or flooding under the appliance
  • Strange noises or vibrations during drainage

This part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and some Kenmore models.

For Whirlpool Drain Hose (Part Number: OEM18044943)

G., The WPW10096921 / WPW10096921 Drain Hose is the correct part number for the model number you supplied. Your machine is different than the video you viewed. If you need to replace the hose, you'll need to remove power to the washer, slide the washer out and remove the two screws from the back of the control panel end caps, and flip the control panel up so you can access the cabinet clips in the rear corners of the top panel. Raise the rear of the cabinet slightly and slide the cabinet off the frame and set it aside. Disconnect the drain hose from the bottom fixture of the drain pump, carefully remove the drain hose "bucket" from the rear panel and extract the assembly from the washer and panel. Then remove the existing drain hose from the bucket, insert the replacement hose and reverse the procedure . Restore power and check the washer for operation and leaks(you may want to have a large bowl ready when you remove the hose from the pump, it will expell any remaining water in the hose and pump).
