RJ, If the unit is saying check vent and the vent is clean and clear then the issue will end up being in the control board. Make sure that there is nothing caught in the blower wheel also.

Bob, This issue would most likely be that the centrifugal switch sticking on the motor. This would require a new motor.

Hello Blake, While it would simplify the diagnosis with the model number so a wiring diagram could be pulled for proper reference, this can be caused by a shorted heating element, a stuck centrifugal switch in the motor, or a harness issue. Sean, With this being a thermal cutoff or high limit thermostat and there being only 2 connection points it would not matter which wire goes to which terminal. This part just passes voltage and would not matter.
