Kirk January 30, 2021 for Model Number 110.66642501 Both high limit thermostats continue to fail. I have replaced both of them twice and also the cycling thermostat. Cleaned the duct also. What could be the issue?
1 Answer Kirk, This issue would most likely be caused by the venting from inside the dryer to the outside of the home being blocked.or restricted in some way. If the venting is indeed clear then it could be a cycling thermostat that would cause the issue or faulty wiring or heater that is grounding out causing it to stay on. Read More...

Mike August 08, 2020 for Model Number LEC7646DQO My dryer runs and heats fine just wont shut off with the timer. Not sure what part I would need.
1 Answer Mike, If the dryer runs and heats, you won't need a thermal cut off kit. If the timer doesn't advance in a timed dry cycle, the issue is in the timer itself WP3976574. If the timer doesn't advance in the auto dry cycle, the issue is usually an airflow problem( clogged vent, vent hood, dirty filter, etc. Thanks, Read More...
Scott May 30, 2020 for Model Number 11060172002 kenmore dryer My dryer is a Kenmore, I got the thermal cut-off kit 279816, as it says correct for this model. MY dryer only has 2 WIRES in the back, not 3 or more. It had one going to the top of the thermal cut-off and ONE going to the ceramic block that is part of the heater element. How would I use the kit in this instance? Where do I apply the jumper, and why is there no 'orange' wire for my unit thanks
1 Answer Scott, the orange wire would not apply to your dryer as the model used in this video is one of the many models that use the thermal cut-off kit 279816. In regards to the jumper wire, the original thermostat would have utilized a jumper to go from the thermostat to the heater terminal. This jumper is what would need to be replaced with the new jumper wire. Read More...
Paul April 27, 2020 for Model Number 11062822101 My dryer stopped heating so I replaced the dryer thermal fuse, the heating element, and the dryer cycling thermostat. Still not heating. Would the next thing be to replace the dryer thermal cut off?
1 Answer Hello Paul, As a suggestion before any more parts are replaced start with using a multimeter and check there is 240v at the dryer's rear terminal block. If the 240v is there start the dryer in a heat cycle and check across the timer's black to red terminals with the dryer running if 240v is found the timer WP3976576 is faulty, Read More...
D H Triece April 20, 2020 for Model Number LER5636EZ0 Re. your p/n 279816.....I have Whirlpool dryer LER5636EZ0. After testing, I know I need to replace the 'thermal cutout switch' which is p/n 3399848. This part # matches up with the 'fuse' in your p/n 279816.
