  • Provides radiant heat to one surface burner zone beneath the glass top
  • Works with the surface control to regulate cooking temperature
  • Common fix for a burner that won't heat, heats unevenly, or takes too long to heat
  • Replace if the element shows an open circuit when tested for continuity
What's included: 1 radiant surface element Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance before servicing
  • Allow the cooktop to cool completely; support the glass top per service instructions to access the element
  • Transfer wires from the old element to the new one position-by-position; secure using existing brackets
  • Avoid touching the element surface; test operation before reassembly

Hello Ron, the cooktop burners are powered by the appliance manager relay board WPW10190396, the left front burner is WPW10221529. The element would need to be accessed and tested with a multimeter, the inner coil should be around 73 ohms and the outer coil about 38 ohms, the thermal limiter should show continuity at room temp, if the element checks good then the relay for it on the relay board has failed and the board would need to be replaced.

Hi Jason. You will need to diagnose if you have 240 vac going to the element from the L-2 and H-2 out from the switch part # WP4456836 is good on low,med and high. If this is good , then you will need to ohm out the element windings to see if it is open. If so the element is part # WPW10221529.Thank You.
