The Dishwasher Door Seal is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It provides a tight seal around the dishwasher door to prevent water, sound, and heat from escaping during the wash cycle. Measuring 71” in length (and stretching up to 75”), this door seal prevents water from leaking out during wash cycles.

Causes of a bad seal can include cracks, tears, or splits that develop due to regular use and age. Damage may also occur from over-tightening of the door or accidental impact.

Symptoms of a bad dishwasher door seal include:

  • Water or moist air leaks around the door during a cycle
  • Higher energy bills due to hot air escaping
  • Excess moisture or mineral deposits around the door seal area
  • Food particles or debris trapped under a torn seal

This genuine OEM Whirlpool replacement seal is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Art, the W11177741/W1177741 Gasket is the correct gasket for a 665.12769K311 Sears/Kenmore dishwasher. The replacement gasket is a factory-direct replacement part and fits several model numbers and replaces several door seals. There may be some variance in the overall length of the gasket, but not 3 or 4 inches. If you followed the instructions from the video attached to the part number then the issue would most likely be an incorrect part inside the package. You may need to arrange an exchange of the part. Thanks,
