Mark Fuller May 29, 2021 for Model Number MVWC300VW1 My Maytag top load washer (MVWC300VW1) has had new dogs replaced and will agitate extremely weak... When a load of clothes is put in there is almost visibly no aggitation. When spin cycle starts tub will spin. Also, to note I can hold the tub and agitator by hand and not a lot of pressure applied. What could this possibly be? maybe the clutch band? or coupler? Thanks so much, Mark
1 Answer Mark, If the unit is not agitating and the tub will not spin if you hold it by hand then it sounds more likely that there is a gearcase issue. Read More...

Blondiesl August 25, 2019 For these transmissions that don't appear to have a solid seal around the entire edge, is it ok to use "Gasket Sealant" if you can't find "Flange Sealant?" I'm kind of stuck here, but my spidey senses are saying Gasket Sealant, if spread very evenly, should do the trick. Also, would it be a good thing or bad thing to actually hand-make a gasket out of a sheet of gasket material? Or would that be too thick?
1 Answer Hello BlondieSL, the Gasket Sealer is a part WP285195, the same as used on automotive engine parts. Trying to make a gasket from gasket sheet stock may be problematic as no specs are given for thickness. Read More...
