The Rear Oven Door Glass is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. This glass panel is installed on the inside of the oven door and is essential for providing a heat-resistant viewing window, allowing users to monitor the cooking process without opening the door. Measuring about 20 inches by 10 inches, this quality glass keeps heat in the oven and provides a clear view for easy baking.

Symptoms of a bad Rear Oven Door Glass include:

  • Cracks or chips in the glass,
  • Visible streaks or fogging between glass layers that can't be cleaned,
  • A loose fit that may cause heat to escape or the glass to rattle during oven use.

Causes of rear oven door glass damage typically include thermal stress from high heat, impact from closing the door too forcefully, or accidental bumps with pots or pans.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Beverly! If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If your door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit. Once the door is removed, you will lay it on a soft surface and disassemble the door. Pay attention and make notes if needed for reassembly of the oven door. Once you have replaced the door glass, you will reinstall the oven door back onto the range in reverse order of the way you removed it.

Mikkydee, there are two middle door glasses, part number WP8300974 and WP4449263. Part number WP8300974 is clear and is directly behind the inner most door glass. Part number WP8300974 has a rainbow color effect to it and is located directly behind the outer door glass. Hope this helps you.

Susan, It is best to remove the oven door in order to replace the glass. To remove the oven door of your unit you will want to open the oven door to the fullest. On the hinge there will be a hole on each hinge. You will want to take a nail or something that will fit into the hole and push it through. You will then close the door slowly and once it reaches where the pins that you put in are the door will stop. When stopped push up on the door slightly and the door hinge will release from the receiver. You will then just lift the door out of place.

Hello Mike. Sorry we are adding videos daily. However, if you open the door all the way and look at the bottom of the hinge, there is a clip you pull down and lock into place. Then close the door until it stops and lift upward and off the range.
